I recall in Europe the old cementaries...
Over each gate to these cementaries it was written in Latin “Memento Mori”.
Now, you can Google up what it all means and reflect, your Ionic is
crossing this gate my friend, say Good Bye to it, and find some deep whole
and burry it deep coz there is nothing else you can do it to keep it
alive...
Amen to it

thanks for your great suggestion.  When I received my Fitbit Ionic, the excitement turned into disappointment as the screen would be black and does not turn on.  It also did not respond to connection to be charged.  After phoning Fitbit Help desk, there was no solution but suggestion that I send it back to their service center 2000 miles away.

Fortunately, with you advice by connecting it to the computer, the watch turns on.  What a relief.  Thanks.

In my case my non-charging iONIC seemed like it was never going to charge again easily.  Lots of fiddling, tried isopropyl alcohol too and still had problems.
Fixed it by using my electric toothbrush and a little bit of toothpaste to clean the charging groove.

Hi! I tried reseting about 15 times and it's not charging. I bought it in Brazil on December. Do you have any kind of support in Rio de Janeiro, please?

Hi there. Try to plug it on a low power device (i.e. a computer) and after
few minutes, maybe it will restart; I did it and that worked.

that was good advice. worked for me before. Also, hold the left a and
lower right buttons until it reboots also works sometimes an the 3rd thing
to try is clean the contacts with a cotton swab.

Try cleaning contacts with fingernail polish remover. Mine was done and I was ready to start shopping for other ones. It took two Q-tips and contacts were really dirty. It now charges great and I have my watch back

Thanks for that, it took a few goes but it's now alive again.

Thank you very much. Apparently the trick is to have it on the charger when you reset it.

@NellyG wrote:

@Sharoneoo try this even if it does not look like it is charging. Put it on charge. Then restart the Ionic by pressing the left hand and right bottom buttons until the logo comes up (if it doesnt come up, keep pressed for 15 seconds), then wait 5 minutes (leaving it on the charger) and repeat the restart. Do this a few times and see if the screen comes to life. If it doesnt you will need to contact supporg - link in my signature. Let us know how you go.

I think that part of the problem is that the charging cable doesn't grip the watch tight enough. I have ordered a Charging Stand from Amazon. The watch snaps into the charger. I am hoping that this will do even better at charging.

If it was that simple the brains at fitbit would surely suggest it, or not?

Fitbit is not going to suggest a product that they do not make or sell. They want you to keep buying their crummy cords.

Thanks NellyG, I had same issue and now it works. Do u know why was that??

This is obviously a manufacturing or design defect that Fitbit is not acknowledging. My Blaze never had charging issues with the snap in case. After my blaze screen stopped working years later, I purchased the first Iconic. It was returned within 30

days with the exact same charging issues as hundreds or thousands have reported in many forums I’ve read online. I decided to give the iconic another chance 6 months later hoping the problem was solved. Immediately after unpacking the box, I noticed the same issues on the brand new watch. When the watch still has battery power left - I have to position the cord / contact in a certain way to get it to charge, just like the first Iconic. Then when the new watch died - it was impossible to see if it was charging because the screen was dead. After 3 days - I finally got it to power up, & then could see how to position the contact/ cord for it to charge. I love my Fitbit, but this will be my last unless this is solved with a new charger solution that is reliable and works 100% of the time.
