I bought this charging stand from Amazon and it works great for me. I just have to jiggle the watch over the stand a little bit to make sure it is properly seated and it always works.

The cable that comes with the Fitbit tends to fall off the Ionic. So try one of the low cost third party charging stations found on Amazon. Also, make sure the percent charging screen appears briefly after hooking up the Ionic. If it does not there may be no charging at all. If the percent charging screen does not appear try hooking up the Ionic again until it does, perhaps after an occasional cleaning of the contacts.

so this solved my ionic not charging issue. but now I have to this EVERYTIME I need to charge.
This is my second ionic already (the first one died and won't turn on...). and this second one is not even a couple months old, really starting to question the quality of the software/hardware for these devices...

Well unfortunately I’m returning my 2nd Fitbit Iconic today for the exact same issue - and exchanging it for an Apple watch - because it won’t go beyond 0% charge no matter what I plug it into. I’ve spent 4 days trying to turn it on - and this is the second iconic with no fix or admission of defect from Fitbit. So enough is enough. I love my Fitbit otherwise. It’s a shame all then technology that the Fitbit has - and a simple charging issue makes it unusable. Good bye Fitbit. Hello Apple.

I have had a charging problem with two Ionics. The first was under warranty and I was sent a new module. However, that module again had charging problems after the warranty expired. I was debating buying a new Ionic (I very much like the built-in GPS and was offered a 25% discount and free shipping which was fair), but then I started trying some other approaches with the charging cord. I discovered when I held the cord and the module tightly together, the module would charge. I then ordered an after-market charging stand (which actually is very functional, if not a bit large) for $9 on Amazon. Not only did the replacement module begin working, so did the original! Conclusion -- if the Ionic fails to charge and is out of warranty or if the owner does not wish to pursue the warranty process, invest less than $10 and see if another charger will work.

They sent me a replacement Ionic under the warrantee and when I got the new one I noticed the charging contacts were 3 completely gold spots. My old one had a tiny pinhole in the middle of each contact right were the pins hit the gold contact, so a different charging cord with different size pins or not exactly in the same place would work. I put a tiny bit of soldier on each contact and now my old Ionic works.

Lets see how truthful the comments in my case as I also having Ionic Charging problem. Contacted Fitbit Customer Care. All customers are expecting a permanent solution for this problem. Fitbit need to address otherwise, disgruntled users will surely dent the reputation of fitbit and go for other stable Brands..
