Check the very center of the contact if there's a tiny black hole right in the middle of the gold contact it will no longer be able to charge. Unless you do what I did and soldier a thiny spot in the middle.

Mine has not been charged in quite some time (months). I'm putting it on the charger, 3 hours, and nothing and following the procedure outlined. Is my fit bit gone?

Mine stopped charging too. Tried everything on this thread. Nothing. Screen totally black the 0% doesn't even come up. It did originally and after two hours still showed 0%. Now doesn't even show that. Third Fitbit I've had that crapped out. Sick of it. Switching to an Apple Watch. More features, more reliable, and Apple customer service is so much better.
Done with Fitbit!

My ionic is 18 months old and completely died. No lights. No charge. Worthless. Call support and tried all the standard tricks to try and get something to happen to no avail. In the end customer service offered me a 25% discount on a new watch. To me this is very bad. A watch that has no other issue other than will not charge after 18 months is unacceptable. I have bought my last fitbit. Good luck to all you that have not had this happen

I went through all the garbage with Fitbit about them not helping me when
my Ionic died. Luckily, I had purchased insurance and, once they
determined the Ionic was not refixable, the insurance company sent me
another one.
The same has now happened to this one and I am ready to forget about Fitbit
and get the Apple Watch 5. I am so disappointed in Fitbit and feel like I
have thrown $300+ to the wind.

My brother has an Apple Watch and loves it. I hate to fork out more money
for another watch, but it will be worth it to have a reliable one.

The issue with the not charging is that it doesn't even register. Saying plug it in and leave it for a few hours is pointless. I plugged mine in, and the 0% screen didn't even come up. tried cleaning the contacts, switching the cable, plugging it into to different sockets, wiggling the cable, nothing. Left it plugged in for about 3 days. Still nothing. Fitbit is crap. Customer Service sucks. Went out and got the Apple Watch. Charges flawlessly (and a lot faster), syncs with the phone much more easily-especially when shifting to a different time zone. Clearly the issues being discussed on this page about the charging are more than just not plugging it in. I don't think anyone expected the device to charge when it was plugged in.
