Same boat but I/we(my wife bought it for me for Christmas) wasn't smart enough to by the insurance. Why would they design and put out a product that is flawed in the most important part of the operations of the watch, charging?
I guess I'm out of luck.
Have a good holiday.

Yikes.
I'm wondering if they have addressed this matter? It seems to be more than just a random issues....

It's a shame that you're investing in a not-so-cheap product and putting faith in to a product to have this happen to the fitbit. It's such a nice design.

After x2 iconic watches, less than 3 months old, that would not charge and spent days showing 0%, I gave up and bought the new I-watch. Three months later with the Iwatch and the differences in quality, reliability and features is Astronomical!!. I wear it in the shower, swimming and a simple reliable charger I’m still learning all the features, because there are so many. I can answer calls, or emails or messages and check my EKG if I want. Fitbit never again.

Had the same problem with a Fitbit Ionic - completely dead screen, no signs of charging when plugged to a charger, and tried this fix several times without success.
However, then I tried pressing all THREE buttons at once - and it came back to life. Don't ask why, it just did.

Honestly, I threw mine away. I was so frustrated. Before I did that I also pressed and held all three buttons at one time. No go. Mine was deader than a door nail.

My Ionic is a week old and batter went dead after 8 days. very good battery life!!!
I had the same issue.. plugged it up via USB and would not do anything (black screen). I then plugged it into the wall with an adapter.. same thing..
Had the Charge 2 before..
I held the top left and right button for 10 seconds (don't give up after 5 when nothing happpens!!) before mine came back to life..
It is now charging.
I will not let it go completely dead again.. I will charge it prior to that happening from now on..

Maybe its best to leave it in the box and not use it?

AWESOME! I'm so glad this worked! Although I would like to upgrade to the Versa 2, its a bit pricey! Hopefully the ionic will last a little longer; until the price for the versa 2 goes down. Thx again!
