FYI: no power is either an issue with the cable or the power
brick/adapter.
I replaced my charging cable. I purchased a three-pack on Amazon.
Unfortunately only one of them seem to charge my FitBit properly. But,
it's charging now!

It was my charging cube that was the problem.

Be careful connecting the cable to the Ionic. Don't let it snap in place,
make it gently touch the contacts or it eventually beats a pin hole in the
middle. The contacts are very thin.

To @Sharoneoo :

Thank you so much for your suggestion.  It worked.  I was worried my ionic finally died on me after three years of use.  Im so happy it is still alive hehehe.

Many thanks for your email, if you need to fix it again, change the cord,
it’s working perfectly! Choose for a genuine one, it’s not so expensive on
Fitbit site. Thanks

I am noticing last year that many people have had trouble with their Ionic watch not charging. I hope my message here will help everyone in 2020. Here is the case: You must play with charging cable to get the charging to work in its normal working environment. It's true. Attaching the magnetic connector takes a few seconds of fussing but no one cares about that because the watch lets you know when it is connected and charging at the upper left of the face when lit up. However, when the Ionic watch battery is dead, there is nothing to let you know that the magnetic posts are on properly. The problem is there is no small charging light on the side of the watch to tell you it is charging when the watch is off. Thus,  the problem. You can fuss with the Fitbit Ionic watch all day and not get the magnetic connecter right, so the immediate reaction  is to think the watch is broken. There is a work around. What you need is a light that signals the Ionic Fitbit watch is charging. The reason for the red "0" is because the battery is at "0". Here is what you do for a charging light. I have a MAXOAK K2 battery. Most people today carry a portable battery of some kind. These batteries have led lights that show the battery level. When you plug into the USB port on the battery, those LED lights start blinking as soon as you plug something into the battery USB ports. If what you plugged in is not being charged, the lights go off and you know you must fuss with the magnetic stem connector for Fitbit a little more. When the battery light stays on, then know the your Ionic watch is charging.  Once completely charged, the battery light automatically shuts off on your portable battery, letting you know that your watch is charged.  In this way, you can use a portable battery to plug your dead watch into. You will see the lights on your portable battery stay on when you get it right. Fitbit should have thought this over in their design. If you don't have a small battery charger, you can solve two problems at once if you buy one. You can charge your fitbit, plus you will be ready for anything else that goes dead. In summary, the whole problem is a missing charging light when the battery is dead. that is all that it is. Hope this solves it.

VERY detailed but makes sense to me.
On another note, does anyone know if FitBit has some type of Loyalty
Program? Maybe after 5+ years continuous use, you can upgrade to another
watch with a 30% discount. After 10+ years, 40% discount, etc Tracking
continuous use would take little-to-no effort on their part! Just curious.

initially this did not work for me because i was following mentioned steps while my watch was attached to charging cable. It worked when i took it off charging and pressed left+bottom_right button together. To my surprise by watch was 100% charged after it started. looks like watch was getting charged while it's screen and buttons were totally unresponsive

Hi, I have the same issue. It's completely dead now, even after leaving it on charge over night.

Please could you assist?

As noted a couple of times before, the problem was the charging cube. Thanks, though.
