I had the same issue.  I am not 100% what made it work, after trying various techniques for about a week.   My final attempt before things were working was to unplug from a 2.1A charger and plug it into my laptop (lower amperage) for about 10 minutes and then go back to a 1A charger, things started to work for me.  I believe it has to do with some weird high current crowbar by the design of the the Ionic.  Try that and lets see.

I've reinstalled the app/ deleted my ionic from the app. Now by phone ( Samsung S8) finds the device but it won't connect to it. Any ideas please?

Mine also died, will not charge, no sign of life. Tried everything on this thread.  My first Ionic was a complete lemon, never worked, and had to return it to the store after a day of wasting my time trying to get it to work.  Purchased this one.  It is now a few months old and won't turn on.  Just got off the phone with them and they said it is under warranty and that they will replace it.  So, I get to send my Ionic to them and THEN they will replace it after they check it out.  Sounds like a process that takes a bit of time and also requires that my couple hundred dollar device gets to them and back without getting lost.  Pretty frustrated.  I like Fitbit, but at this point I have to consider switching to Apple watch.

Yes I am dealing with the same issue!! Of course I have to send the dysfunctional product to them and then they will send the replacement within 5 days. I would have loved a refund so I could have replaced it with an Apple Watch, which I’m still considering. Not to mention before it fully died I had the “pay with ionic” option constantly popping up, like 100 times a day, with no solution. What a waste of $300 😏.

I had to get a replacement. Call Fitbit and tell them what’s going on. They will send you a shipping label to send off the broken watch.

The multiple reset you provided, It worked on mine.

This is a second Fitbit I have that is doing this.  The first one, it was new, I submitted the case, and I got the replacement.

The replacement came in, and I was happy for three months. until I started to swim with the watch again.   I maintained the watch with charge, and used it carefully.  The claim Fitbit makes, the watch is water resistant is somewhat true.  If you start swimming with it in an ocean, or highly chlorinated swimming pool, it is a matter of short time once you will see the charging problems.  How the charging connector is designed, and the battery type and charging circuit, it will short something, it is a matter of time exposure in a harmful environment.  The key to using it, washing in clean water, and avoiding swimming with it. Various pools where they chlorinate a lot, can damage it I think.

Thanks for info.
I am supposed to get a replacement.
I had same problem with the blaze, was replaced once and when it broke for second time, they made it no more and up ionic came out.
I was hesitant to get it, but I lived my blaze so much, that I chose it over apple.
2 weeks only it lasted!, so disappointed!, I really cannot expected a lot more from ionic Fitbit.
Thanks for info..

Hi there,

As for me, my hopes after resetting the watch were pre-mature.
All I was able to see the watch did not take any charge from any source I
had.
As I mentioned, it is a second Ionic, the replacement I got, that failed
the same charging circuit as the previous one.

The charging circuit is a failure in the design, and it has to do with
exposure to water, like a highly concentrated chlorine pool or a salt
water, I am not sure what composition of sweat and chorine or sweat and
salt does it, but the charging circuit will fail slowly. Looking at amount
of e-mail traffic on this subject, it is a common failure.

If you don’t swim with it, it is a good watch

Thanks,

Ari
