My Ionic screen fades to black.

I have charged it and once I remove it from the charge the screen slowly fades to black and I can't see anything.  No touch or buttons turn the screen back on.

Thank you so much for responding to me.  Also, when i do press the buttons I can feel it vibrate as if I am doing something but the screen is completely black.  Now it just remains dark. I would greatly appreciate any assistance that can be provided regarding this.  Thank you!
