My New Ionic has a very poor battery life

I purchased the Ionic and shelved my Apple Watch. I did this because of the alleged 4 day battery life.

Well, it's day one of using the Ionic and after charging it all night, working out at the gym this morning and using it all day,  it's below 50%. Yes below 50 % after 16 hours of use.

There is no way this is going to make it to 4 days without another charge. I doubt it will even beat my Apple Watch's poor 36 hour battery life.

I have no special apps or configurations in my Ionic.

What could possibly be wrong ? Is it the watch? Did I mis-read the battery life claims?

Ate you using all day sync? Have you used GPS? Do you have notifications enabled and get a lot of them? If no to these try restarting your watch several times and fully charge it and see how it goes on that charge. Mine lasts 4 days easily (no all day sync and not using GPS, and not many notifications)

Thank-you for your reply, NellyG.

I turned off all-day sync. I haven't explicitly used GPS nor do I see a way to turn it off. Can someone provide some guidance on that?

@skicityFitbit have just replaced my Ionic because I was having random sudden battery loss..

But slightly different. When I noticed the sudden drain I restarted the Ionic and the remaining battery life would last another 2 days.. This was random. The battery drain was about 0.55%/hour. Then a sudden crash like yours.

This went on for a few weeks with good sessions and averaging about 6 days battery, no GPS just 24/7 and workouts.  I kept documenting and emailed that to Support and I received my replacement Ionic via Fedex last week.

To my knowledge GPS is only used if you select that option.. when you chose an exercise..
