My Tryst with Fitbit Service

I had an issue with the my Ionic charging and based on the feedback in this forum, I concluded that the Cable need's to be replaced(Hope the diagnosis is correct) , So Ordered one on the Fitbit India Store, there begins my travails.. 

1) It is 4 days since I have ordered the cable there is no update on the consignment number / Shipment date nor has the support responded. Finally got a response on Twitter, but then there is no respite yet as the timelines as it looks today is about 10 days for a solution. Reason sited Pandemic, but if the systems are good, delays would be tolerable and not total disruption

2) The timelines in response got me wondering what will I do with out a Fitbit and realized how much our physical activity has been tied up to the smart watch. To be honest it was a motivation and non availability also resulted in my refusal to go out for a walk / Jog. So decided to break my attachment to the fitbit, wait till i get i my charger cable and continue my walking / jogging without the smart watch, there were options on Amazon which i didn't want to take as I was looking for the original.

3) Initially Fitbit in India had tied up with Big e retailers for the distribution and this was working. Looks like they have now decided to tread on their own path by creating a e-market store which i feel has been outsourced for management. The service is bad and there are  huge gaps in support, and this is  definitely a recipe for disaster in a growing market  

 

Looking forward to me getting back on the road with the Fitbit

I hope your charging cable arrives soon 😊

It is funny how dependent we get on our smartwatches/tracking devices.  I am lost without my Fitbit.
