All start-up questions describe the dashboard and a "credit card" style icon. I can't find a credit card icon no matter what I tap on. I have an account, recording heart, steps, etc...no dashboard icon.

The account icon was a credit-card style symbol on the older dashboard.  On the newer dashboard, it is the symbol at top left, your person avatar if you have made one, if forget what it looks like elsewise, but at the top left take you to the Account screen as the old credit-card style used to.

JonnyRow, thanks. Now advanced a bit. Still looking to do something very basic such as change the clock face but I find all these basics aspects are glossed over.

Just have to tap lots...

See How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

It again references the old-style account icon.
