Hi, just updated to the new firmware release, but app notifications stopped working. Call notifications is working, but apps, texts and calendar notifications are not working. I already tried rebooting my phone (it is an iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 11.2), rebooting my ionic and forgetting and pairing again my ionic, and can not get notifications working again. Thanks!

Guys, after expending the weekend checking all the solutions proposed (and confirming that all basic settings were OK, I  mean, notifications on in the ionic where in, show in history in iOS was in, no do not disturb mode not enabled, etc.), and confirming that after reinstalling the fitbit app, I got a blank screen in app notifications configuration (I mean, no app were showing), I decided to start over, so I did a iTunes backup restore my iPhone and recover from the backup. A few minutes later, notifications began to show up, so problem solved!!!... and has been so far with no problems what so ever...

Now, digging a little bit, I noticed that my problems began not only after the ionic upgrade, but also after iOS 11.2 upgrade and when I turned on my Pebble Time Round (which was off for a while). I was not able to confirm the problem but I'm guessing it may have something to do with the pebble app running along with the fitbit app. Before doing the backup I deleted the pebble app, so it was not on my iPhone when I recovered the backup. I hope this could help other ionic users having problems.

Have you checked the app under notifications? Are they all green

As mentioned above, check the phone app under notifications and make sure the switches are turned on, but also check the settings on the watch (from main screen swipe right and check notifications says "receive from phone").  I had the same thing happen a couple of weeks ago, it's very easy to turn off by accident.

Yes, everything is green, ionic notifications are on, and apps are all green.

Well, this is getting frustrating, I did a hard reset and still no notifications...

I have the same behavior after the upgrade, but I'm using an Android device and am not even getting calls to notify.  I've double checked all settings on the Ionic as well as the phone and they are correct.  This all worked fine before the upgrade so I'm guessing it broke something...

Same here. Literally just got an Ionic as an "upgrade" to my Pebble (RIP). Thought I was doing something wrong, but apparently not. 😞

Notifications work on my Samsung S8/Android7.0. But to be fair, I did do a factory reset yesterday because many apps weren't updating, so that might have solved it for me.

Oh, it's working now after rebooting my phone and watch.

Next thing: Is that really as strong as the vibrations get? I'm too used to jackhammer mode on the Pebble and can see me missing these all the time. Smiley Indifferent

I've had the same issue, I've had to go in EVERY morning and "Enable Notifications" otherwise I get nothing on my Ionic. Syncing fails on a regular basis, too.  I had better luck with all of this with my Blaze.  Kind of wondering if this one is worth the headache.

Same here.  Notifications stopped just before the upgrade, I upgraded and none work.  I've rebooted both they Iphone7 and the Ionic, turned bluetooth off/on, turned notification off/on.  My notifications have worked since I've gotten this thing about a month ago.  This is the first time something has changed.

OK, after some testing I've actually figured out what my issue was. I don't know if this is obvious to everyone else, or whether it's even the same issue, but if I have my phone set to Do Not Disturb/Quiet Mode then notifications don't get pushed to the watch at all. This is contrary to how the Pebble worked where I had the phone permanently set to DND and the watch had its own schedule, where notifications still showed up but it simply didn't vibrate. That makes more sense to me, but there you go.

Additionally, I've found that if it's set to not notify when I'm asleep, and it thinks I am (like shortly after I've woken up), then notifications arrive silently, but they're hidden in the swipe-up drawer instead of shown on the main screen.

Both pretty counter intuitive if you ask me, but now I know what it's doing I can work around it.

I got on with tech support and the upgrade may have turned the notifications off.  If you swipe right (not left), I found the notifications screen and it was off.  Didn't even think of this screen.

@MaximumFish Yeah, you are right. I have my phone muted and no notifications to my watch. After I change my phone sound profile, notifications on my watch show up.

Well, not sure this is bad product feature decision or just a bug.

May be how your phone works. My S8 is on silent at work, and I still get notifications on my Ionic.

I have edge 7, just quit receiving text messages,  everything else seems to work,  customer support walked me thru everything, still nothing, so said she would sent it to fitbit specialists.  Guess I will wait for email.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to thank you all for the time you took to update your Ionic.

If you are having a hard time receiving notifications after updating, I recommend unpairing your Ionic by navigating to your phones Bluetooth settings and 'Forgetting' the device.

Once you have done this, force close the Fitbit app and re-pair your Ionic by tapping on the 'Notifications' tab found in your Ionic account settings.

I would also double check to see if notifications are toggled on by swiping to the right on your Ionics clock face.

If you are still aren't receiving notifications, I would perform each of the steps detailed in this article including restarting your Ionic.

After performing each of these steps, if notifications still are not working, please let me know!

You can set stronger vibrations in settings on the ionic.
