No working music control (missing track titles and artist name)

Hey there! I bought an Ionic and I'm loving it. But there is one thing I don't understand. I'm running the newest firmware and Android OREO 8.0 in OnePlus 3. I can control music apps via Bluetooth but titles and artist names are not shown on my display. One time it worked for approximately 2 seconds. Now I can't get it to work again. I tried several resets, different music apps and endless re-pairings - no way. Anybody else has these problems?

Best regards

Patrick

@Hyperrick I hope you're doing well! Thanks for trying all of those steps. Those are the usual troubleshooting steps you need to do in order to better this.

I was checking the list of supported devices and wasn't able to find your phone. I think this is what is happening. As it is not fully compatible, this kind of things may happen.

I have a Moto G4 which is also not compatible, and for example, the Do Not Disturb feature doesn't work for me. So, I believe that is the reason you are experiencing this.

Keep me posted!

I think I found the solution. With Android Oreo (8.0) AVRCP 1.3 was removed. This is needed for transmitting Titles and Artist Names. With Oreo 8.1 it's back, but I don't think, that my old phone will get that update. So I downgraded today to Android 7.X (Nougat) and everything works fine.

So it would be great if the Fitbit team could tell me, what AVRCP Standard the Ionic uses. If it's 1.3 I'm out. Maybe it could be changed during the next Firmware Update?

I've experienced the same! Connected seemlessly once and never again. Tried many times using different methods, rebooted etc etc, but no joy. The ionic and phone are paired, i see the "green phone icon", says its connected on my phone, but it wont alow me to control the music, wont even display that anything is playing! 😞  ...using OnePlus 3T, Android 8.0 Oreo. @SantiR this happend with the latest fitbit update, was working fine before

@Alex456 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting this situation you are experiencing with Ionic.

Have you updated your watch to its latest version already? This may be the reason why you keep experiencing this situation. Please check this post to get the steps on how to do this.

@BjörnSierra It's great to see you in the Fitbit Community! Thanks for trying those troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

So, it shows blank when you go to the music control screen on your watch?

I see that the OnePlus 3T is not showing under the list of supported devices. This could be the reason why it is not working properly and not as before.

However, you could try performing a factory reset on your watch to resolve this. Use this as a last option. However, as you already did some other steps before with no luck; you could try that out. To factory reset go to your Ionic Settings App > About > Factory Reset.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Woman Happy
