I have had my ionic for a week tomorrow. Still have not been able to sync it properly and use it. I have talked to the customer service team multiple times and spent hours trying to trouble shoot with them.
It takes about 2 hours to get it set up. It syncs for about 5 minutes and then disconnects. It then goes back and forth from looking and syncing but never connects.
How long do we need to wait before this gets fixed or they can give some update. I have tried all the trouble shooting including factory reset, etc. Very frustraing.

@SantiRI just needed an Ionic restart this morning..and it synced immediately.
It still amazes me that I see all of the data on the PC Dashboard, but the phone Dashboard doesn't update for a few minutes.. That's the sleep graph and RHR.. That's using my 4G+ mobile network
I will create my sleep HR activity and the HR calculated part is not on the phone but the activity and the results are on the PC Dashboard when I do a refresh.. Less than the time it takes to click the refresh...
In summary, I haven't had to go through the sequence of syncing for a few weeks and App 2,64 is definitely better for me... on my non listed phone.. I feel calling the devices list a compatible list is a misnomer.. It should be a non tested list..

My ionic had been syncing fine, and then Wednesday it stopped. I have restarted, reinstalled, turned everything off and back on, checked to make sure that I had the latest versions of everything on my Samsung and the Ionic/Fitbit. After the difficulty in setting this up in the first place (2 hours) and now it is the most expensive pedometer I have ever owned. I don't know what else to try.

Thanks!
Well now that it's working so well, turn your auto updating off and don't update the app anymore........ if you update it again and break it, you'll have nobody to blame but yourself 😟
@Crazy-FritterThat's the equivalent of asking the user to "version control" their app, because the FB team is failing to (fully) regress interoperability testing, before a release, IMHO.
The same could be true of the firmware (OS and other fixes) on the watch itself, should a user "block" all future updates, since it actually, mostly works, at a given time?
I'm with the person who started the post here, it should "just work", or at least close to that, and this device is so far off that mark, it's laughable, compared to my Charge2.
Before I returned mine, I did a full "battery out" CMOS reset on my desktop motherboard, and that did it, the app was *finally* able to find my Ionic again. It never stopped seeing/syncing with my Charge2, that's the whole crazy mess, the Bluetooth stack was functioning fine, with the other watch, a set of headphones, etc, everything "just worked", as it should, except the Ionic.
Hopefully FB can resolve some of this, via software. I lost all faith in the reliability of my new watch, maybe there'll be a rev.2, or something...

I do try to hold on Ionic (not for long): the syncing is still terrible, it stops every second week. This time the setup process is broken down too, the setup says "Found it" "Connecting to tracker" but the connection does not happen.

You are lucky the sync breaks only once every 2 weeks. Mine breaks the moment after it works (if it even syncs). Most of the time it doesn't/fail to sync no matter what I do. Notifications don't work most of the time as well.

I finally got in touched with a fitbit rep and told him i wanted to exchange my ionic to see if i got a lemon set. was told it was not possible as there wasn't any service centre in my country.
so my option is to spend $60 mailing it to the place i bought it from and back, hoping the replacement would work differently positive. guess what? my $10 china watch is getting my support when it comes out with a new model.

I have now had my Ionic for a week and it has only synced once when I first installed it. I have spent 6 hours across several days restarting, reinstalling, removing it from bluetooth, etc. I am running Windows 10 on my laptop. My windows phone (8.1) fitbit app doesn't recognize the Ionic so I can't use that. I have checked for a more current version of the app but it says I have the current version installed. I am now so frustrated that I could throw my $300 watch against the wall, but I won't do that because I need to at least get my money back. I had a Charge HR and occasionally had syncing issues, but had wrist band failures twice which prompted my move to the Ionic. Assuming for that price tag they had fixed things. This will be my last fitbit product.

I just upgraded my Charge 2 to the Iconic. I have to say I'm really disappointed I made this decision. I was able to get it to sync once. The wrist band issues with the charge 2 were terrible but at least it worked. I think I'm taking a trip back to the store tomorrow.

I really like the Iconic buy its its getting to be a pain that when i set it down for a day or two to charge and use one of my other fitbit's it will no longer sync with my iphone 7. Currently deleted from FITBIT application and trying to add it back in. Says its found in but is stuck and connecting tracker screen.

Totally agree. So random. Drives me crazy. Have tried the suggestions. About to call them again. Love the functions, but really frustrated with the sync issue.

so after a month or so of trying everything I called to send my ionic back. The rep I got on the phone told me to try something I didn't know you could do, and it worked! Finally my ionic functions with my iPhone and fitbit app just like my Blaze used to.
So here's what he had me do that worked: I reset my ionic back to factory settings, but instead of just letting the fitbit app set it up again I told it to replace the ionic on my account with a "new" one. So I guess that deleted all data from my ionic from the app and set it up as if I'd bought a new ionic to replace it. I was skeptical because I'd done a factory reset several times over the past month, but I guess whatever data was corrupt either in my account, phone or the ionic itself kept getting reinstalled when the app set it up again. This is the first time that the ionic came up after the updates in a completely fresh state. Past factory reset/restore had reinstalled settings I had changed in the process.
Fingers crossed that this fixed my issue for good! If so maybe this will help some of the rest of you who are still having syncing issues.
