I have had my ionic for a week tomorrow. Still have not been able to sync it properly and use it. I have talked to the customer service team multiple times and spent hours trying to trouble shoot with them.
It takes about 2 hours to get it set up. It syncs for about 5 minutes and then disconnects. It then goes back and forth from looking and syncing but never connects.
How long do we need to wait before this gets fixed or they can give some update. I have tried all the trouble shooting including factory reset, etc. Very frustraing.

Good, i deleted my account and asked fitbit for a refund. No refund after 45 days. Apperantly i should have read the phone compatibility list before buying this model. That list is hidden somewhere, and when i pre ordered it, Fitbit never asked me to check if my phone was compatible. Silly me thought it was OS and BT version related, but apperantly some genius decided to mess with phone models, instead of being OS en BT compatibe. Seems that my CAT 60 android 6.01 and BT 4 is not compatibel. All other BT devices work with that model phone, only the ionic seems to use some very special BT protocol. So, i tested the ionic on a windows phone from the beloved wife here, and all notifications work. Sync works.
Now i wonder, since i see many issues here with both apple and adroid phones, why does this model have these BT issues with a specific phone model, and why is it not OS and BT compatible?

I had two major problems after FW update:
1. Battery life became terrible, one charge did not last for one day. I had average 5days before the update. Any way to fix the problem? 2. Sync problem as discussed by others.

I’ve been using ionic for 4 months now. It’s difficult to get it to sync. Very temperamental. To sync my ionic, I have to take it off and give it a lunch break of at least 30 mins, away from other Bluetooth device. Then step away as if it knows I’m peeping and sync. Works best when there’s a wall between us and I’m like 10 metres from it. 80% success rate. If it’s connected to the charger, then it’s 95% success rate ( minimum distance apart still applies).
It’s A Great watch, but if this behaviour don’t get sorted, then I’m sure my next watch would be something else.

Well they refuse to send me a new model, since my android 6 and BT4 phone is not on the compatible list. The funny thing here is that i do read a load of complaints from those who do have a comp phone.
This legal hideout is ofcourse great for FB, they have my money, and i have something eating dust on the shelf.

I am returning mine while I still can. I have been using a Samsung S2 that was my wife's. I like it and it works.

I'm sorry I didn't specify this only happened once and I've several different issues with my ionic so that may not have been clear. I discovered yesterday that if I don't pair my ionic with my Android phone somehow it pairs and syncs better then when I try to do it with troubleshooting included. Go it a try people, if yourey as annoyed as I am about this device it's worth a shot.

Come back in two weeks and tell us that it's still working without any further work needing to be done on it and I'll believe it.

Returned my other Fitbit Ionic because of syncing issues on 21st February I had enough and got a new one on the same day and there had been a Factory Update and an App Update which I thought I am in luck and to my surprise the new one failed to sync on the 13th March (Australian date) 21 days of working as it should. and I obviously need to to yet another restart and the same issues are to begin all over again and y stress levels just will keep going up. I love the product but! Enough is enough.

Return it if you can. You will not regret it. My regrets come from not returning it.

@Yvettekendall Perhaps there's some confusion, the Ionic doesn't sync (fitness data) over WiFi, it only uses it to transfer music, in a wifi-direct method.
I'm not sure about the weather app, it may use WiFi, but honestly I bet it uses Bluetooth, through your phone/tablet/PC/whatever, to update this too, WiFi seems to be very limited in scope.
It certainly uses Bluetooth to sync all your fitness data, having WiFi connected, or not, has zero to do with that side of things.
Bluetooth is somewhat range-sensitive though, but as long as you have your device in the same room, it's usually pretty solid (BT max ranges from about 30' for standard, to 100' for some new types).
I returned my Ionic awhile back though, before I got out of the "holiday return window", it was just too flaky, in many ways, sync'ing being probably the most critical/irritating of the bunch...
