First let me be clear that I am receiving timely notifications on my Ionic and I am receiving some types of notifications from the app in question just not all of them. I don't seem to have any sync issues.
My phone is a OnePlus 5T running Android and the latest update available putting the OS at v8.1.0.
The app in question is called Life360 and is a family tracking app. It makes notifications for events such as a family member completing a drive, checking in, sending a message, being involved in an accident and arriving or leaving preset places of interest. I receive all of these notifications on my phone and did so on my Android Wear OS 2.0 Huawei Watch 2 Classic that preceded my Ionic. The Life 360 team have done a great job of creating many notification types for granular control of what you want to see but I should add I have not edited the default notification settings. Here is a screen capture of their notification types as seen on my phone:
I routinely receive notifications on my Ionic from the Driving category informing me a family member has finished a drive. I also get notifications covered by the In-App Messaging category but I do not get anything from the Place Alerts category which is the one I value most as it tells me when my family members arrive at places of interest we have setup. All of these notifications do appear on my phone.
Notice that the working “Driving” category and the non-working “Place Alerts” category are both set to the same importance level of urgent and when drilling down into them both have exactly the same settings:
I am therefore at a complete loss as to why my Ionic does not receive the Place Alerts.
Here is an example of alerts received on my phone. Note that my Ionic received the “drive complete” notification but not the “arrived at” alert. I should point out that while these two alerts are closely timed and potentially could interfere with one another place alerts can be and are routinely triggered without an accompanying drive complete alert (someone drives past a place without stopping) and these solo place alerts aren’t received either.
As for my Ionic configuration I have All Day Sync and Always Connected turned on and did have the Keep Alive Widget turned on (although this option seems to have disappeared from the settings after last night’s Fitbit app update). I have tried with Enable Transliteration both on and off although I do not expect to see non-latin characters in any alerts. Life 360 is of course turned on in my notification app list.
For troubleshooting I have:
The problem is unchanged.
Given that these alerts appear just fine in the Android notification shade and the failing notification category is similarly configured to a working one I believe this is a Fitbit software issue and would love any help the community and particularly Fitbit support can offer.
Thanks in advance.

I sure wish it was that easy, but that would mean I would have to say that I may or may not be appart of a beta test team, and with all that do not disclose and non-disclosure agreements I can't say, other than with the next big update jump in firmware for your Fitbit I think you will be very happy !!😉

Any idea when that will be coming out? Timeframe?

Honestly no idea, what so ever, that information is way above my pay grade, they invite, we test, that's it.

Has anyone experienced not receiving notifications for one specific person in your Life360 circle? I have a Versa 2 and Samsung S10. I get notifications for my two sons just fine but not for my husband. His notifications DO send to my phone, but never appear on my Versa. We've checked all the settings we can find, uninstalled/reinstalled but so far no luck. Seems really odd that it just happens with one person?

Humm that is strange.. have you ever received them from him or did it stop all of a sudden and for kicks you might try to log out of 360 and back on and see if this helps !

I just got the Versa 2 for Christmas. I haven't received notifications for him from the beginning. I tried logging out of Life360 and so has he. I even unpaired Versa 2, uninstalled Fitbit app, and set that all up again. I still get his notifications to my phone so it's not the end of the world. It's just confusing and slightly annoying 🙂
I wonder if it is because my husband is the administrator of our Life360 circle? Maybe we should try changing admins.

You can have more than one Admin per account he just needs to add you as one me and my wife are both Admin on ours but I am not sure thats going to fix it but hey its worth a try... I am playing around with it all and trying to figure it all out to try to help ya out .. just some random questions if its okay, can you see him when you open up the 360 app, and track him, you said that you get notices of the kids coming and going from the house , so you do have the "home" set, I am wondering if his phone as far as permissions are set is set as always on, what kind of phone does he have? if so go into the settings of the 360 **ahem** and make sure that he has the location setting as always on, under the app settings not inside the 360 app. and see if that helps, and you might have him uninstall the app and reinstall it and make sure when you set it back up make sure all permissions are set as always.

Thanks for your help and patience Mike_augie!
I thought we had solved the problem but now I'm just getting intermittent notices.
He also has a Samsung S10 and I confirmed we're both on the same version of Samsung's software as well as the same version of Life360. Here's a summary of the latest:
1/1 he uninstalled/reinstalled the app.
1/2 he left for work while I was still at home. Phone received both notifs that he left house and arrived at work but Versa did not. However later that day he headed home while I was still at work and phone/Versa DID receive both notifs that he left work and arrived at home. He didn't made any setting changes, it just "magically" started working. I thought we were good but...
1/3 he left for work and again I received notifs only on phone. I waited until afternoon when he left work to see if I would get notifs again but I did not. Then last night we headed out together and I started getting his notifs on Versa again.
So we've made progress I guess lol but it isn't consistent. I am still getting consistent messages for both sons. The only thing I can add is that my sons never use wifi, only data, and that my husband and I both use wifi whenever it is available. Could this be a setting we're missing? Or a compatibility issue between app/device?
Thanks again!

After testing this for over a week, there definitely seems to be a correlation between using data only and using wifi.
If my husband turns OFF wifi and uses only data, then I receive all alerts for him from Life360 to my phone AND my Versa.
If my son turns ON wifi then I stop receiving his alerts on my Versa and only receive them on my phone.
Not sure if that makes it a Samsung, Fitbit, or Life360 issue lol but that's what I'm finding.

Did you ever discover the issue/solution for getting Life360 alerts on your Versa?

I tested your theory and turned off my son's Wifi. As soon as I did that, I was able to get his place alert on my phone and Versa 2.
With the wifi back on, it still only alerts my phone. Strange how his device's wifi setting impacts how the alert is received on my end 🤷
Funny, though... With his wifi off, now I'm getting alerts telling me he should turn on his wifi to improve location information... Lol
