Hi @heeemz,

Active minutes are awarded by level of exertion measured by the heart rate. Since the HR monitor is disabled during swim, you shouldn't see any active minutes from it.

Work out...eat... sleep...repeat!

Thanks, that makes sense as to why it doesn't allocate active minutes.

On side note, I am a big fan of FITBIT, and swimming is a key feature for which I went in for IONIC. Unfortunately, this area has been disappointing, it makes FITBIT IONIC a way too basic for swimming. It looks more of sales gimmick to add swimming as an exercise feature, where as in real - it doesn't do much. It simply calculates number of laps, and again we need to manually enter length of the pool (which is even more disappointing, if one swims in different size of pools. Plus on a number of occasion, it calculates number of laps incorrectly. (number varies by +1 or +2 on most occasions).

looks like something changed? I see active minutes being allocated now. However, it still shows HR as not enough data available.

Hello @heeemz, thanks for sharing your inquiry about this.

This article about swim tracking updated in September 27th 2018 still shows that heart-rate tracking is disabled during your swim workout. At the moment, we haven't received more updates regarding any changes in this feature while swimming.

Additionally, I can actually see there's an idea published in the Feature Suggestion board about this, I do recommend that you vote for this suggestion and add your comments as well, this always helps to continue attracting the attention from the team of developers for possible updates in the future.

I hope this helps.

Interestingly - I have noticed instances when it is capturing heart rates and awarding active minutes as well, this doesn't happen always (bug?).

Note - I always select Swimming Exercise Manually prior starting activity, and stop it a the end of it.
