Notifications over WiFi instead of bluetooth

Will notifications work if my phone and Ionic can connect via WiFi but not Bluetooth?  I suspect not, but the reason I ask is that I have an Anova sous vide machine that is bluetooth only.  It would be nice if I could leave the phone by it but still get notifications over WiFi.

No, the Ionic does not utilize WiFi in that manner. It is only utilized to transfer music or apply software updates.
