Notifications stopped from Moto G5s Plus to Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Ionic and my Moto G5s Plus for about a year. They worked flawlessly  together  first with Android 7 and then after the Android 8.1 update over 4 months ago. Last week  the ionic just stopped receiving all notifications  I checked all the settings. Notifications are 'On' on the Ionic and in the Windows 10 Fitbit app I use to program it  The phone and Ionic still sync without a problem  I even did a factory reset of the tracker  re-installed the software using the computer and ... no change. How can I start getting all of my notifications  again? I can't figure out why they disappeared in the first place.

Hey @Macdo, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! I appreciate the time you have taken to try those tips to receive notifications on your Ionic. Let me tell you that this phone model, the Moto G5 Plus is not a compatible device to work with Fitbit devices, so even if you try all the suggested troubleshooting, I can't guarantee that it'll work. It might be under testing, since you mentioned that it worked before, but I can't tell you if this will be officially released as compatible and when is gonna happen.

Let me know if you have further questions!

Thanks for the 'Welcome,' Heydy. Unfortunately, I already knew that the G5S PLUS isn't listed as compatible.  Since it worked flawlessly for nearly a year and there were no updates that I'm aware of in the past 1-2 weeks, however, it makes no sense that such flawless function suddenly ceased.  I was hoping someone might have some idea as to why this might happen and how it can be overcome.

Thanks for your reply @Macdo. I understand you. It is possible that this phone still under testing, so that is why it is not working constantly. I will suggest you to make sure that the operation system is updated to the latest version. And if you haven't, please follow the troubleshooting in this help article.

I will ask you to be patient while our team is working to expand the compatible devices list.

A couple additional things to check:

  1. Make sure that you have notifications turned on in the Moto G5 plus fitbit app, under the ionic device page.
  2. Make sure that the fitbit notifications are enabled in your notification access panel. On android 8.1, that should be Settings>App & Notifications>Special App Access>Notification Access.

Thanks, @Gregerator. Valiant effort. I did go back and check the settings on my phone. I wasn't aware of the necessary settings in 8.1. Unfortunately, all settings were already correct.  Thanks, again  for trying.
