Oneplus 7T compatibility with the ionic?

I recently purchased a oneplus 7t but so far haven't been able to sync my ionic with it. 

 

Tried to stop / start Bluetooth on the phone, rebooted the ionic, but the fitbit app keeps saying "looking for device..." and then after a little "device not found".

 

I can still sync it with the oneplus 6T I used before switching to the 7t. 

 

Did anyone else ran into the same issue? Any idea or suggestion would be great.

Your phone is not on the list of Approved Devices.

Yes, I already knew that. But neither are the Oneplus 6T and the Oneplus 5T and I never had issues syncing Fitbit devices with them. The approved devices page is of hardly any use since it only lists a very small number (and mostly old) phones.

 

I'm looking for other people with an ionic and Oneplus 7T to hear if they are running into similar issues or have any insight that might help me.
