Pandora Music Skipping

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I purchased Pandora's premium service so that I could download and sync music to my Ionic.  I have synced a playlist and am trying to listen to it through my headset and the music does a pause/skip thing every couple seconds of a song.  Has anyone else had this issue and know a fix.  Seems pretty annoying to try and work-out with this glitch.  The Bluetooth headphones have always worked with everything else.

As a follow-up - I've tried removing and reconnecting the Bluetooth headphone to no avail.  Very annoying to have the music cutting in and out.

I am having the same issue but with my transferred music!  It just plays a blip at a time!

I have resolved my issue; restarted the ionic and then restarted the headphones.

@SunsetRunner Sorry to hear your workout playlist is skipping - that's certainly not expected. It sounds like a restart helped resolve this situation for @ns111 - have you tried doing the same? Let us know if you continue to encounter this behavior after restarting the tracker.

Mine is still skipping even after resets of both devices and I'm using the latest firmware. Pandora.

Also I'd say it was a total fit bit problem but I haven't received my flyer yet as night blue is delayed across the board she'll Fitbit said release was with the Ionic. This is my first Fitbit product and between the software issues and poor release of the flyer on time with my watch, it's left me sour almost $500 later....

I loaded my Pandora stations and was anxious to try it out on a walk..I was soooo disappointed..mine skipped to the point of not being able to listen..even after resets..the music aspect of Ionic is one of the reasons I bought it and it has been the biggest disappointment!

Mine also skips on Pandora and my downloaded music to the point its so frustrating I stop using the headphones.  As with everyone else I have tried restarting my headphones (Flyer) and my Ionic.  This is so disappointing!

I have the exact same problem. The only solution that worked for me was to wear my Ionic on my right wrist. While wearing the Ionic on my left wrist, there was too much interference for the Ionic's weak signal, and Pandora tracks would skip every 5 seconds.

Mine does the same thing.  I'm so upset.  I bought the flyers so everything is compatible and it's so annoying not to be able to listen to Pandora.  I haven't gotten around to loading other music yet.

Same problem with my Ionic (glad I'm not the only one and that I don't need to go purchase new headphones).  It seems to improve/go away after about 10 minutes but is extremely frustrating for the first part of my workout.  Any chance there's an update that can be pushed to fix the problem?  Still within my return window so not decided yet on whether I'm going to keep it, since this was the feature that convinced me to buy it.

@coderman @JHDC Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with Ionic and Pandora music skipping. Also, thanks for getting the Flyers!

Have you performed a restart already? This should certainly help you out on fixing the skipping of music. You could also try wearing Ionic in the other wrist as I have seen this has helped other users in the past.

With Ionic you can also download personal music playlists and recently Deezer was also added. You could try using these options for music too.

Also, the latest Ionic version is 27.32.4.19 that was released on March 14th, 2018. No new updates available for the moment.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

What an amazing disappointment.

And no fix from the fitbit developers?

I'm having the same problem when I am connected to my Jabra EVOLVE 65 but I am not having any issues when I connect to my Fugoo or a #2719 speaker I picked up at a conference.

The headset has no issues when connected to my computer or to my phone and seems to be limited to the Fitbit device.   It does a repeating pattern of 2:1 ratio.  Two seconds of sound, 1 second skip.  When on a walk I will have sound for 4 steps, then it will cut out for two steps.

Since it works on the Fugoo across the room I have a hard time it is distance related.   I suspect there is a synch that is happening every 3 seconds or so.

It is a known issue (by the community) that the Bluetooth signal emitted by the FitBit Ionic is very weak.  The result of this problem is poor bluetooth connectivity with your devices.

  • FitBit staff have not really acknowledged this issue
  • There are some workarounds, but they aren't all that successful - your mileage may vary.

Here is a brief list (each with web-link) of some other threads from this forum that all describe problems stemming from the weak bluetooth signal emitted from their fitbit device:

And certainly there are more threads on these forums, but that should get you started and give you an idea that you are not alone with this issue.

We all hope dearly that Fitbit staff will recognize this issue, acknowledge it, and attempt to somehow improve the bluetooth signal from the ionic.

Fitbit Ionic is maybe 2 months old.  Fitbit promises fixes for vaRIOUS ISSUES, INCLUDING THIS SKIPPING OF MUSIC.  But, they never deliver the fixes.  THey just apologize and promise.  For YEARS.
