Pause/Resume display on screen triggered by T-Shirt sleeve

Pause/Resume display on the "run" screen is being triggered by my sleeve! This has ruined the timing for my runs. When I called customer service, I was told there is no way to disable the Pause/Resume display.

Seems I can't use IONIC with cold weather gear; long-sleeve T-Shirt, Track-Suit, Gloves. The work around, I was told, was to place my hand over the screen to darken it. This is too inconvenient, not practical.  I wish they still produced SURGE -- it worked well, and without IONIC's over-elaborate nonsense.

I need to know what Fitbit intends to do about their problem. Can't wear sleeves or gloves with Ionic's pause resume display. This is a problem you need to fix!   For Sunday's Marathon I wore a Casio timepiece.
