I have seen suggestions for providing the ability to interface a chest heart rate monitor to increase accuracy of tracking irrespective of how watch is worn during activity. I have resurrected this request against IONIC family. I am sure it will be of importance to you. To me that is an item that will make IONIC as one of the best competing models among all other fitness wearable. Please vote.

This is essential and I really don't understand why they don't bring out a chest-strap for people who need it.
Wrist strap alone does not get anywhere near the accuracy needed for proper HR training

Apparently the design team hasn't yet thought that this is essential. Fitbit doesnt even need their own chest monitors. They can simply hookup to bluetooth / ant+ just like Garmin. This feature will help solve general accuracy problems in any type of activity by switching to a paired chest strap monitor during activity if a device is detected.

So how do we do that as my Ionic only allows me to hook-up to headphones via Bluetooth

We can't do anything unless software support implements such an ability. That is the objective of this feature request. Apparently not many on this forum are interested. I really thought there would be enough votes to gather the attention of a moderator who can take it to development. Very disappointing.

I voted, hope they take this part serious.
getting tired of the same suggestion to place the tracker 2-3 fingers above wrist bone for more accurate HR measuring.
Just add the feature like Garmin and let us be able to get some proper HR data during HIIT exercises, at the moment Im testing the Ionic when I do circuit training, comparing to a Tickr X chest strap connected to my IPhone 7 and Avg HR rate has been 20-25 bpm lower on the Ionic.
Last time it was Avg HR - 123bpm Ionic vs 147bpm Tickr X

39 votes isn't bad for a month old suggestion. Sometimes it takes a while to gather some steam. And it would require a change of design no doubt. This is number one on my list of new features for the Ionic. I did notice that Fitbit mentions that the heart rate monitoring with the Ionic is enhanced to handle higher rates such as with HIIT. But a chest strap can't be beat for picking up the fine details.
