Pokemon go adventure sync + Ionic fitbit

I was wondering if anybody has an ionic fitbit while playing pokemon go.

Ever since Adventure sync was installed into the game, I was wondering if the GPS on the Ionic been way useful in the game?

Right now I have charge 2 and have to carry my phone (which has GPS) in order to play the game. Wondering if Ionic will improve my movement in the Poke-E game?

I have an ionic and I've not work it for a few days as it's broken but I've not noticed any decrease in my pogo distance covered so I'd be inclined to say that the ionic doesn't make a difference to the game.

@Juan1994 there is no ability to share data collected on the Ionic to Pokémon Go.

Pokémon Go only syncs with Apple Watch and Google Fit.

Pokémon Go developers will have to develop a solution to pull data from the Fitbit api's. I doubt Niantic will do that anytime soon.

Actually, you can connect Google fit and FitBit together.

I've been using FitToFit app in the play store that it literally connects the 2 apps fit together. Haha, the Pokemon go adventure sync updates by my Charge 2 database.

Sounds like you don't play Poke-E Go hardcore as I do.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I learned something today thanks to you. Downloaded the app and synced. Smiley Very Happy

You may want to review this message in a thread in Third-Party integrations:

Pokémon Go Support?

There's also a very lengthy discussion in the Feature Suggestions:

Pokemon Go Adventure Sync Support

There is discussion that it does not actually work using Fit-to-Fit to sync data since it is seen as manually entered data into Google Fit which Adventure Sync does not support.

I see the blog, but nobody hasn't really posted a comment about playing pokemon go while having their Google fit (activity workout journal log tracking) ex:walking) on also.

I've been having both apps on, no battery saving mode, and wearing my fitbit bracelet......and it works for me just fine. A few players on Twitch video themselves playing Pokemon Go with their fitbit on....and its record their steps like nothing.

Still haven't seen nobody answer my question about Ionic GPS fitbit work better while playing pokemon go?

If you have Google Fit installed on your phone, it does its own data collection (even if it's not open and active on the phone). This is the data that Adventure Sync is making use of. It has nothing to do with the fact you have a Fitbit tracking your walk as well. Google Fit does not make use of the GPS data collected on the Ionic (and GPS data is not synced to Google Fit using Fit-to-Fit). So your question of whether the Ionic GPS works better is moot because it does not play a part in the equation.

Now that's the true answer I want to see. Thank you so much! 😄

Haha, I was wondering if the ionic GPS fit into the Google Fit system or not. Gonna tell the Twitch and my Discord group folks the bad news, because we honestly took the idea differently.

It's almost Black Friday sales, and I want to make sure that Ionic or Charge 3 doesn't make a difference in the Adventure Sync set up.

Saves me the money of not upgrading my Fitbit for now. Lol.

Mine stopped working, I do 10k steps daily because of my job and can't have my phone on me. Fit to fit does transfer the data, but Adventure sync has stopped working for me. Contacted Niantic support and they said Fitbit is manual input because it's transferred in so it doesn't work.

Sucks big time. 1 of the reasons I got the fitbit for. I hate Apple products.

@Bdeath Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to post the experience you have had with this.

At this time, only steps from your Fitbit device or MobileTrack count towards a challenge/adventure. That means manually logged activities and activities tracked through any third-party apps aren't included in your challenge total. Check this helpful article for more details.

So this makes sense, but you all need to make this work. You have loads of people who have, want to get and / or upgrade fitbit devices, but for whom one of the big reasons they need steps to count is Pokémon go. Silly? Perhaps. Still valid. Please work to integrate the Fitbit and Pokemon Go apps without needing a third party, potentially hackable app so nobody has to worry about cheating.

Unfortunately it hasn't helped me 😔 it still won't sync my steps. Put forward my issues with poke-g to see what happens

@Leiryfish unfortunately it was shown after I posted the "solution" that AdventureSync will only sync activities directly recorded in Google Fit. Any activities that are manually added/synced (which is how Fit-to-Fit operates) will not be synced to Pokemon Go via Adventure Sync.

My understanding is that it will take interaction between Fitbit and Niantic to allow for syncing Fitbit activity via AdventureSync.
