Poor battery life

Hi!

I got my ionic in April this year and for about 2.5 months it was the best thing ever! I had all my notifications turned out to my watch, I had the screen on autowake and I would get about 4-5 days out of my watch before I needed to re-charge! About a week ago the battery started decreasing drastically, and I contact support who asked me to do a factory reset etc, did all of this to no avail, so I took the watch to my local store where I purchased it as they replaced it. Great!! Except for now, my brand new watch is doing the same thing.. I don’t have notifications turned on, I have the screen on auto. And I had my watch at full charge this morning and it’s now at 20%! I’m so confused, is there something I could be doing that’s making it decrease so much!! Is there something hidden after the last update I need to turn off. I just can’t think of what it could be.. considering it’s brand new too! Any suggestions?

Could you have installed any 3rd party apps or watch faces that could be misbehaving and causing increased battery drain?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have the true elegance watch face, which is just an anaglog clock, has been for the last 2 months. And not that I’m aware of with 3rd party apps. I haven’t put anything on my watch, I purely use it for exercise.

You're not alone.  You'll find several folks with the same problem.  My guess is the latest firmware broke something.

Currently I'm working through the fitbit support process to where I gave it a full charge and am running it down, syncing every 3 to 4 hours so they can see what happens.  Full charge as of 3pm my time yesterday, now 7am and it's at 29%.  So won't be long until it's dead and I can email back so they can look through.

Wish I had more for you, but just want you to know you're not losing your mind.  Some folks seemingly updated with no issues.  Me and you (and several others)?  Not so lucky.

Good luck!

Hm, how incredibly frustrating hey! I went through that process too, but decided as it was still under warranty to go and get a replacement, what are the chances of the replacement being faulty as well! Hopefully you can get some answers too. Good luck with it all!
