Hey!

So I am super excited by all things Ionic, but am running a race within the next 2 months. What is the release date that it will be able to be shipped out if preordered?

Add me to the list as well!

I just received a notification from my credit card alerting me I have been charged for my ionic and now my order status has been updated to processing for shipping. I ordered on 9/1.

So it looks indeed like the pre orders are starting to ship.

My credit card was just charged. So I guess I was wrong. This means it is set to ship soon or now. The order went in under 3 weeks ago, so good work, Fitbit if this is going out in the next day or so!

Credit card was charged today on 23 Sept after less than two week since placing order. Yay, Fitbit!

My credit card was just charged! I placed the order just under 2 weeks ago, so they must be shipping no or in the next day or so. Yay fitbit.

I’m excited and soooo jealous of you guys. I just hope us buyers in the uk who’ve purchased through Fitbit haven’t got to wait another 3/4 weeks 🙏🏻

I don't think the UK will see it until October unfortunately. That's what Fitbit initially said anyway.

Perhaps it was foolish.

But I ordered the Ionic on 8/28, hoping that Fitbit would treat pre-order customers with priority shipping based on the dates on which the orders were placed. In other words, I (wrongly) assumed that I'd be getting my order before those who purchase theirs weeks after I purchased mine. In my case, being among the first would work to my professional advantage. Apparently, that's not going to happen.

What is the advantage of ordering in advance directly from Fitbit? Maybe it's the idea that if they somehow run short on inventory, that pre-orders will be filled first?

Ugh. I'm getting so sick of waiting. The hype is dying for me now. Sure hope this turns out to be worth the wait.

I'm in the USA and ordered in 8/28. My PayPal status still reads "pending." I have not received any order update status from FitBit. Perhaps soon.

My order status changed on paypal and fibit.

My card was also charged and I ordered on 08/28.

Edit: Ordered the Smoke/Charcoal Gray

Also, for those of you who purchased the extra 2 year protection plan, have you guys been charged for that? I haven't yet.

I chose the same color.  You know, I have been going nuts for the past several years at the thought of continuous heart rate monitoring for workout, rest and, sleep.  However,  every review of HR for these wearables was always iffy.  I have never had a wearable (except an old Fitbit for a few weeks that belonged to the wife).  This is my first foray into the fitness watch.  I have to say, pretty excited.  It's been like 3 years of wanting one. 🙂

2nd Edit:  either I'm missing posts or things are updating in weird orders...I didn't get a notification from fitbit and my PayPal status still reads pending, but my CC company sent me a charge notification.  From there,  I manually checked my status from the link on my original confirmation email from Fitbit and the order says processing, see if it is the same for you.  Apologies about below, I misunderstood it to mean you were upset that your notification came at the same time, not before everyone.  I do bet, barring a payment issue, you'll be getting yours shipped along with everything going out early next week.

Because you are still getting it as soon as possible.  You are still getting it faster than retail.  This isn't ordering an existing item of a shelf that is shipped one at a time.  There is too much in the way of logistics to try and guarantee certain users get theirs before others. You're just trying to get the products to your customers in the most efficient way possible.

First is figuring out demand, how much to manufacture, and how many of what go where.  Nowadays this means China. Then once they are made, you have to get them physically to ports outside of China. This involves BOATS full of shipping containers.  Going over water is still a slow process often taking 2-4 weeks or more.  That's if the inspection/customs processes at the destination ports don't slow you down.

Then they get to various world wide ports and now they have to get inland to various shipping centers.  This involves going thousands of miles via trucks or rail, again slow.  Remember this is still bulk, pallets upon pallets upon pallets of larger boxes filled with the actual boxes of product.

Once they get here, then they have to be broken down to individual units, THEN they are labeled and sorted for delivery then sent out the door to individual customers .  This section I just greatly simplified.

So they send these out from here in BATCH shipments.  They are most likely staging everything over this weekend for the shipping partner who takes them, in bulk, and now that they are *available* are getting all sent out at once in the most efficient way the shipping partner can.

You are getting your guaranteed order, as soon as it's available to actually send to you, and still getting them sooner than anyone who didn't preorder.

But somehow you are sick of waiting for a product that is going out to you as soon as they said it would.  That logic doesn't follow.  If the excitement is done that early because you don't have it before anyone else, it was a bad purchase even if it got to you the next day.  Nothing you purchase is going to give you long term happiness or excitement anyway, you either think the product will be of use to you (based on what you know before purchase) or you don't, but it will never give you long term excitement or happiness, the next big thing will just be the thing you want in a never ending cycle.

Edit:  I should explain better...I'm very excited also (would I be here if I wasn't?).  But if you are feeling negative waiting for a product coming to you on time, and are upset over false expectations, you're not being good to yourself.

Well one of mine just disappeared.  Second time that happened over the past two days. I wasn't rude, explained the complexities of the process and made the terribly controversial statement that it's just a product, that is exciting, but isn't going to give you long term happiness.  Maybe a moderator doesn't like that I'm saying a product won't change your life? Haha.  Anyway I think you read it @CopperWolf808, I'm not sure if it was removed, but it would be disappointing if it was, as that seems like moderator meddling unless I violated something I didn't realize but I wasn't notified of any issue.  I'm open to other thoughts if someone who read it thought I was being a jerk or something.

Anyway, to @NewJerseyWriter I never got an email from Fitbit.  I did get a notification from my CC card company that a non-present transaction was made, but my PayPal account still shows pending.  I did manually check my order from the link in my original Fitbit order confirmation, and the status now shows processing.  If you can find your original order confirmation email, check that link.  If it says processing, yours is on its way (they originally said "received"). I do bet, that barring any payment issue, yours is going out with the rest of them next week.

My original order now reads "processing." Perhaps Fitbit is prepping for a massive shipping batch to push out tomorrow. We shall see.

Patience has never been my strong suit.

Yeah, they typically don't ship on weekends, so since there is movement on this, looks like they are all getting shipped early next week as customer service has been reporting to people.

@minigno Yeah, I was wondering why your comment disapeared! I didn't think you were being a jerk at all just stating a fact of life, that material things are not everything. I mean it can make you happy but there is more to life than that. So don't get bummed that you're not getting what you want when you want it, you'll get it soon enough and just have patience.

Well idk if I read more into it than what it was but that is what I got from it. I was thinking on how to explain myself without going all hippy lol
