[EDIT] TL;DR: If your sync seems defective, it probably is. Hope this saves some people days of frustration. They just can't seem to get the sync to work right. Unfortunately, they'll put you through endless lists of "fixes" that don't fix sh*t. (I have done EVERY fix recommended, in those long blue lists that seem to be official, and every other one I could find. Resetting sometimes helps, temporarily. Nothing else does.)

This thing will not sync, other than once in a why by fluke. It's my second one. The first one ended up displaying red X on the screen and wouldn't do anything else.
Both of them had huge problems with syncing. They do it occasionally. I have no idea why. Just in the mood, I guess.
So many people are facing this. I think it's just wrong that Fitbit tells us to go through all these steps. I have done them. All of them.
They're time consuming and it's very frustrating.. Especially because they just don't work. I've reset these things entirely a several times, because that's supposedly the last resort that will definitely fix it. It definitely did not.. One told me that all the data hadnt' been cleared, no matter how many times I supposedly factory reset it.
The new one has also quit illuminating when I turn my wrist over. I guess it just decided it doesn't want to do that anymore.
Other tech I've used doesn't present any where near this level of hassle and frustration.
I think this is just a mass beta test.
I'd really love this thing if it worked. Unfortunately, it's more smoke and mirrors than functioning product.
