Question about the material of leather wristband

Did anyone purchase a new brown Fit Bit wrist band that was supposedly to be leather. The band in the Fit Bit box is rubber. Everywhere on the box is states " Genuine  Leather ".  No way this replacement band is leather and it really looks cheap and crappy. I can't believe they sell this as leather, or is some company selling them in their regular boxes, but putting rubber wrist bands in the box?  If anyone has received a brown so called leather band was it really leather? If not, what did you do? I didn't buy it through this Fit Bit store, since it's so expensive. Thanks.

Hello everybody, thanks for visiting the Fitbit Community.

Like @SunsetRunner mentioned, the leather wristband for the Fitbit Ionic is made of Horween® leather which is a high-quality leather hand-crafted and tanned in Chicago through traditional tanning techniques. @Darlene50 @Cloggie8 I'm sorry to hear that your Ionic wristbands don't seem to be made of real leather.

@Darlene50 Since it has been a while from your first post, contacting the retailer might not be an option.

There is another forum where your question is more likely to be answered. It's the fitbit ionic product forum .

Yes , They're made in a 113 year old leather tannery called Horween Leather Company.

I bought brown and a 'indigo blue (actually is grey) 'genuine leather ones and they are definitely NOT leather ..... and I did buy both from the Fitbit store. Am going to contact Fitbit about this and will try and remember to update this.

Yes, I too thought it would be leather, but some sort of rubbery material.
It is really ugly, but love my Fit Bit.
