Quick replies on Galaxy Note 8 are not available on Fitbit Ionic

 I have the Ionic and a Galaxy Note 8. I did the firmware update but don't get the option for quick replies when I receive text messages. I am using chompSMS. I have enabled Quick Compose in that app. Is this app supported for the quick reply?

Apps that allow you to reply to a message directly from the notification on your phone support quick replies on your watch. This includes, but isn’t limited to, apps such as:

• Text messages
• WhatsApp
• Twitter
• Facebook Messenger
• WeChat
• Line

Quick replies are automatically turned on for any supported apps that send notifications from your phone to your watch. 

To receive and respond to messages from your watch, your phone must be nearby with Bluetooth turned on.

When you receive a notification from your phone, your watch vibrates. To respond with a quick reply:

1. Tap the notification on your watch. To see recent messages, swipe down from the clock face.
2. Tap Reply. If you don’t see an option to reply to the message, quick replies aren’t available for the app that sent the notification.
3. Choose a text reply from the list of quick replies or tap the emoji icon to choose an emoji.

You also need to be using the latest Fitbit app update.

Thanks for the reply. I had read this and assumed the app I am using,chompSMS, would work since it supports quick compose. 

Do you know which android SMS apps do work with the quick reply?

Same problem here. But I am using a BlackBerry Android with BlackBerry Hub .None of the notifications show Quick Replies including WhatsApp or BBM. However both my Fitbit App and Ionic are upgraded. 

I am running Android 6. Does it require Android 7 or above? Or is it a bug?

rich_laue, that is not an answer. I have just got a versa and see no quick reply option to sms. I too am using chompsms and although it is a well known ”text messaging" app, it would seem it is not supported for Fitbit quick replies. I tried the stock messaging app that came with my Samsung and that does allow quick replies. given I chose to use a non stock messaging app, it would be nice to know which apps (by name) are known to support (or not) quick replies.

That was my original question. For me the stock sms app doesn't work at all
with my Ionic.
