Reboot Required to Sync Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Ever since updating to FitBit OS 2.0, I’ve had to shutdown my Ionic twice a day to get it to sync with the app on my iPhone.

FitBit support had me do all the troubleshooting, and it is well documented in support case #24135554

Their end workaround was for me to just deal with daily reboots.

I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I’m also wondering if any FitBit employees could comment. This certain isn’t very positive experience for a hopefully not formerly long-term customer.

Strange @np_van as I’ve no problems with my iPhone. Sounds like possibly there’s a Bluetooth conflict. I’m presuming you’ve restarted your phone to perhaps clear its memory. Perhaps try forgetting the Ionic and then establish a new connection?

I wonder if this is the same issue I have with my Ionic.  It keeps disconnecting from the bluetooth on my phone and I had to reboot both devices to sync yesterday.

I have done all the troubleshooting including:

  • Deleting the Fitbit app from my phone
  • Deleting the Ionic from my account
  • Deleting all Bluetooth devices on my phone
  • Factory resetting the Ionic.

Basically, the workaround is shutting down and restarting the Ionic twice a day.

Hey guys @np_van @beachbrum, it's great to see you around the Fitbit Forums! I on the same boat than @SunsetRunner, so far so good with my Ionic.

I have replied to you @beachbrum, in this post. Are you both using more than one device to sync?

After doing what you mentioned in your last post, do you keep restarting your Ionic in order to sync @np_van? By any chance, are you getting any error message either on the app or watch?

Looking forward to your response.

Hi,

I’m only using my iPhone to sync the Ionic. Also, I need to shutdown and restart the Ionic to get syncing working again.

I just received my ionic for a Christmas gift. I am using a LG G6 with the latest fitbit app and the latest firmware on the watch.
I usually start with rebooting the Ionic first and if that doesn't work I reboot the phone.  If I have been using some BT headphones or something, sometimes I'll reboot the phone first.
I have to reboot almost everyday so far.
