To anyone else who has received the Ionic...are you having problems with the device repeatedly notifying / celebrating that you reached your goal? I've been having it do that many times so far since I have set it up. It doesn't seem to happen when I am not moving, it only happens when I start walking again it seems. Any fix for this?

@SteviK Thanks for all those details! Would you please try restarting your tracker to see if that helps? You can do this by holding down the left and bottom-right buttons for several seconds, until the display goes dark and the Fitbit logo appears.
Once the device has fully restarted, let me know if the constant goal celebration continues.

First be sure it is a goal notification and not the 250 step/hr congrats (page 29), then try turning auto-sync off and sync'ing manually.
If it only celebrates when you sync it is a database (fitbit.com) to Ionic issue to report to customer service.
If it celebrates without a sync then it could be an Ionic issue that I'm sure they are anxious to hear about and get rectified...
Keep the rest of us informed @SteviK, you are the eyes and ears of those of us with a date and no ring 😉

@SteviK Following up on the excellent advice from @wmchapman - if you're still encountering something unexpected, can you give us more details?
What sort of celebration are you observing? Please post a photo or describe what you see on the screen so that we can better understand what you're seeing.
How many times have you encountered this behavior? Does it happen every time you stop and then start walking again?

@MatthewFitbit Thank you @wmchapman.
This is in relation to my daily goal, not the 250 step/hr. Is it the "All-Day Sync" that I am supposed to disable? That is the auto-sync, right? I turned that off and it did not make a difference, it still happened. I also closed my Fitbit app, and still had the problem. But I am not sure if it is really closed when I close it, you know it may still be running in the background.
My husband had another idea as to what it could be. It could be just a "first day" problem. All day today until I got my Ionic I was wearing my Charge 2. I reached my goal with my Charge 2. I synced my Charge 2 with the app right before I put on my Ionic. Then, synced the Ionic with the app. Now, what could be happening is that in the Ionic memory, it is only recording the steps I have taken so far with it. And when it sees the app telling it that I have far more, it thinks I have reached my goal. But that number of steps in the app is not actually changing what the device itself thinks. Although on the steps on the Ionic matches the steps in the app, the actual memory in the Ionic has not changed, and is only recording the steps I have taken since I started wearing it. Does that make sense? Like it could be a programming thing that got overlooked? I am hoping this does not happen tomorrow (if I reach my goal that is lol.). But this is getting really annoying right now. I am hoping that if I raise my goal to something I will not reach today that it will stop celebrating and telling me about it.

@SteviK Can you describe exactly what you're seeing on the screen? What visual is the device displaying?
And does this happen every time you stop and start walking? Is it happening over and over?

Here is a link to a video that I just took. Hopefully it helps. Sorry it is sideways.

Yes it seems to be happening every time I start walking again. It vibrates too.

@SteviK Turn it off, turn it back on - works most of the time! Glad to hear that got it working properly, and thank you for the detailed description of your experience. I'll let the team know all the details, as well as your thoughts on why it happened.
Please let me know if this starts happening again. Enjoy getting started with your Ionic!

It looks like there's been a firmware update to fix this. I was getting it yesterday when I first set up my Ionic, and actually it kept removing steps and taking be to about 60-70 under my goal every couple of minutes - happened 4 times before I reset the watch.
Anyway I hope the update has fixed it.

Outstanding! What a great forum community, we can rely on each other to communicate in a positive way to keep fitbit trackers consistent and dependable. Kudos to @SteviK for uncovering the issue and bringing it forward and @MatthewFitbit for communicating on our behalf to the folks in white coats who scrambled to ensure everyone's experience with their Ionic is annoyance free! Great teamwork everyone. Every fitbit counts, believe it.
