I too would like to know the correct method to factory reset my ionic.  The recent update has bricked my ionic and my last hope seems to be a factor reset.  I'm stuck in an endless loop of the fitbit icon blinking on and off every 10-15 seconds or so.

That's a pretty drastic step. Are you sure you need to? If you are having issues, have you tried restarting it?
