The manual and related illustration show the ionic displaying both the current and the resting hr on the daily activity app. On my ionic, which I have been wearing for over a week, the ionic does not display the resting hr unless my current hr is within a beat or 2 of my resting hr. Otherwise, it displays only my current heart rate. Does anyone know why this is? I contacted fitbit support yesterday, and they were entirely unhelpful. The rep on the phone could barely speak English, and his replies were non-responsive to the issue.

A warm welcome to the Community @R--B! Thanks for letting me know that you've contacted Customer Support. I've noticed that they already replied to your question. Just to make sure everyone gets the answer here, I'll post the answer.
When you're exercising, it will show you heart rate and the zone that you're in. When you're just relaxing and you aren't in any zone, it will show the heart rate and your resting heart rate.
Hope this helps!

i have the same problem with my ionic. i am sitting (relaxing) and the Today display shows Heart Rate and In The Zone. It does not show the resting heart rate. I want to see the resting heart rate. How do i do that?

I'm fortunate I have a low RHR of 53 and my fat burning (FB) starts at 71.
Use this calculation (220-age)/2 = the point where your RHR will show with your HR on the Ionic. When your HR is 1 beat below the FB point. Use the Relax App and bring your HR down,
It's very important that you wear your tracker while sleeping. I have found it has a significant impact on RHR.... The HR while asleep mirrors the RHR on the Ionic Fitbit stresses this in their help offerings...

Still does not work. The display shows only current heart rate and "in the zone" but does not show resting heart rate.

@SunsetRunner I would do as @SunsetRunner suggests, restart Ionic, hold your left and bottom right buttons at the same time until the Fitbit logo appears and you get your watch back. You don't lose data.
Also do the calculation (220-age)/2 = bottom of Zone point and compare your RHR..
It would help here if we had those two numbers..

220-67/2=76.5. I did the reset and when i looked at it initially, it gave me a quick RHR but then went back to current heart rate 66 and "in zone". No resting heart rate.

Thank you but i figured it out. I had set a Custom heart rate on the setup and it was 50-150. I changed that to default and now it works. Thanks for all of the responses. It really helped me look in the right places.

@SunsetRunner Great news and now you have helped many others, even me because I would never have thought of that.
