Running track stopped working during a 16 km run.

I only realized it had stopped working when I was finishing the run. It paused by itself and it shouldn't happen since the ionic should recognize a run and start recording right away. After almost 2 years I was able to run 16km again and it has recorded only 8 km and jumped in a straight line in the map directly to the point I had finished the run. So weird. So disappointed.

@Masazume. Im confused. you say that you did nototice that the tracker paused, but then mention auto detect, which method have you used to track your run?

Hi,

I did not explain it properly. I have set the exercise before starting and
never looked back to it until the final part of my training. Since Ionic is
supposed to recognize the activity I never care if the activity could have
been accidentally paused by the touch of the jacket, for example. When I
was almost finishing my training I took the first look to the display and I
noticed that the activity was paused almost in the middle of my training. I
pressed play again and finished my training and ended the activity
manually. I do not know if the activity has been started manually it
overwrite the program to auto-recognize the activity. Anyways, if this was
the problem or whatever happened that do not allow the auto-record of the
exercise, the result is a huge deception with this product.
I have been using Fitbit for almost 4 years. I have motivated 5 people from
my family to buy one, but that is the second time this happened to me. The
first time it was a short run and I didn't care too much, but this training
session I have been training to get that for almost 2 years. I did it and I
am happy about that, but I am so disappointed that I could not know my
performance because my tracker did not track it.
Strongly thinking about a move to a competitor brand.

Sincerely,

Hello @Masazume, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community.  It's nice to see you too @Rich_Laue, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

@Masazume, I appreciate you have taken the time to share your experience and your feedback about the Fitbit Ionic. At this moment, if you haven't done it yet, please restart your Ionic by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. Then, start a new activity, if possible, placing your Ionic a bit upper on your wrist to prevent the exercise to get paused by any accidental push on any button.

I hope this can be helpful, please give this a try and let us know the outcome.
