I just noticed today on the back of my Ionic that the finish over the sensors has turned white. Hard to describe without a picture, but it's almost like if you would take a piece a sandpaper to plastic. I never wear it in the shower or water, and it never leaves my wrist otherwise. What could cause this to happen? Worried that this will affect the sensor accuracy, but it currently seems to be working fine.

I'm talking about those red lights on the back of Fitbit's watch. renders in the past and you'll spot that the lights on the back are always green. potentially switching from a green light based sensor technology to a red one.

@mmarto711 yes, "hard to describe without a picture". If you don't have a camera on your phone do you have a friend or family member with a phone capable of photography that you can use to share the picture with us? I've seen Ionics with weird whiteness on the back before and it can impact its ability to charge and I'd assume may impact its heartrate accuracy but that's just a suspicion, the charging is a definite issue. I'm assuming you've already attempted cleaning with 99% isopropyl? If not, there's your solution. Only use 99% on Fitbits because it evaporates almost immediately. Prolonged moisture from standard iso not good for your tracker. Cheers 🙂

Thanks Williger, I took a picture but cannot figure out how to upload it here. I don't see a way to attach a file, and when I try to paste as an image in this text, i get an error saying that I don't have permission to upload images. Anyway, yes I did try to clean with isopropyl, and no luck. Any help in uploading the pic would be great.
Thanks!
