I have the Alta HR, and I am a runner. I'd like to know if I should upgrade to the Ionic. Any thought?

As a fellow Alta HR user, all I can say is it depends on what you wish to track. I believe if you go to the Fitbit store, you can do a compare/contrast between the two.

I'm runner as well and will be upgrading from a Surge to the Ionic; from what I know of the Alta I predict you'll love the Ionic's in-built GPS and the real-time stats displayed in Run Mode.

I plan to upgrade my Charge 2. The ionic is water resistant, so I can swim with it, it has onboard GPS, open SDK, improved heart rate sensor, 3rd party apps, and on screen workouts. If you're happy with the alta then stick with it, but if you want or need any of the upgrades go for the ionic.

Good Point, I plan to wait for the inevitable Black Friday sale before I pick one up.
