Should I receive a notification when someone replies to a text message (SMS) that I sent them?

I get notification when I first receive a text, but when reply to that reply and the other person replies, I don’t seem notification of that new text reply.

Is the system supposed to work for texts  received?

Yes, you should receive a notification when your friend replies to your text message. I would like you to make sure you're doing this procedure to set notifications.
