Sleep Stages / Quick View not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Despite trying all the "fixes," I've never gotten the enhanced sleep data on this watch.

This morning, it quit turning on in response to wrist turns, and it only turned on in response to double tap if it had been on a second or two prior since the day I got it. Now, it only turns on if I push the left button.

This sucks. I was so looking forward to this Ionic. I pre-ordered the first day it was available.

Ugh.

I'm not experiencing any issues.

You can try restarting it: restart

Same here, sleep data and wrist turn to activate works fine. I did notice that after an update the option to activate on a turn of my wrist was turned off.

Wonder if it’s worth dropping support an email to see if any of these problems could be down to a faulty unit?

hope you get it sorted as the Ionic is a wonderful device despite the teething issues.

I've had no problems with it other than sync issues. It likes to be finicky, but that's a story for another day.

I cannot attest to Sleep Stages, as I use my Alta HR for this. I find smartwatches to be too bulky to sleep with. A restart, in this case might be a good idea. Just hold down the left and bottom right buttons for ten seconds. The Fitbit logo should appear, signaling the successful restart.

Please try that before contacting Support.

Are you sure that the wrist wake function is on the "auto" setting. For some reason, mine had turned itself to the "off" setting  and when I changed it back, it all started working properly. As for all the issues as a whole, you will need to decide if your unit is defective, in which case you should return it, or if there is an easy fix that you are overlooking (restart or roll back to factory settings).

Good luck and happy fitbiting!

I noticed when the battery is full I get sleep  insight. Last days with a battery level below 30-40% it did give only the basic settings.

can you check or this is the case on your watches?

Maybe the Ionic close functionality to preserve the battery to come to 5 days?

If this is the case it should not be like this considering that during the night i only lose 5-6% battery.

I have to agree the full sleep tracking seems to be off. Most all nights I never show deep or REM sleep. My blaze always show deep and REM sleeps. Well as long as I use my CPAP.  This so far is the only discouraging part of the Ionic for me.

Hi everyone!

@NewJerseyWriter If your quick view isn't working I would recommend making sure that your Screen Wake setting is set to auto, rather than manual as @EvKo suggested. You can find this toggle by swiping right on the clock face.

For anyone that is not receiving Sleep Stages, I would recommend making sure that the Ionic is being worn snugly but not too tight about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone and making sure that your battery isn't too low.

I would also recommend taking a look at this article, for some best practices on getting the most out of your sleep.

If you still are not receiving sleep stages, you may want to give your Ionic a restart to help refresh its system.

@DramaQueenDiva @SunsetRunner @Craig Thanks for your help. Great to see you around!

@MattFitbit, the problem with Sleep Stages is it is a very hit and miss proposition; I've had my Ionic for a month now and here is how it has shaken out:

  • 04-Oct: No
  • 05-Oct: Yes
  • 06-Oct: Yes
  • 07-Oct: No
  • 08-Oct: No
  • 09-Oct: No
  • 10-Oct: No
  • 11-Oct: No
  • 12-Oct: No
  • 13-Oct: No
  • 14-Oct: No
  • 15-Oct: No
  • 16-Oct: No
  • 17-Oct: No
  • 18-Oct: No
  • 19-Oct: Yes
  • 20-Oct: Yes
  • 21-Oct: Yes
  • 22-Oct: No
  • 23-Oct: Yes
  • 24-Oct: Yes
  • 25-Oct: No
  • 26-Oct: No
  • 27-Oct: No

  • 30-Oct: Yes
  • 31-Oct: Yes
  • 01-Nov: No
  • 02-Nov: Yes
  • 03-Nov: No

So, basically Sleep Stages has worked 10 days out of 31 or roughly a third of the time.  My sleep schedule has been fairly consistent as has the way in which I've worn the Ionic (as in the band is fairly tight).

Long story short, somethin' ain't right.

same here .... the reason I purchased my first FitBit in 2013 was the sleep tracking function ..... I was really pumped about the sleep stage tracking .. great idea .... IMHO it does not work (1/14 days) -> does not work as advertised ....
