Spotify connect app won't allow me install on my ionic

Hi all, I'm trying to install the spotify connect app on my ionic. I've synced and updated the firmware of my ionic, and update the app, and also the IOS of my iPhone. When I got the the app page to download spotify connect the 'install' icon is faded grey and won't allow me to click on it. It has this messaged in a red box underneath 'To install this app, make sure that the Fitbit app on your phone and your device have the latest updates'. Well they have, and it still won't allow me to install.  What am I doing wrong?

Also I believe this app is only letter you control your spotify via your phone, and not for downloading onto the ionics memory so it can be used independently? Is that correct?  When is this going to change? Surely its about time an app allowed you download your own playlists so you can leave your phone behind. Any updates on this Fitbit community?

I don't know why you can't install it but I can confirm that it is a Spotify control app only - it requires Spotify running on your phone. See: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1976/

I am not aware of any plans to change the way this works.

I did a software update and it downloaded. But I didn’t realise it’s essentially just a remote control for Spotify on your phone, so decided there is little point in using the app. I wanted to play songs from Spotify without my phone, but seems Fitbit aren’t there yet.
