Hello,

I have a Fitbit Ionic and according to https://spotify-everywhere.com/collections/wearables

it should have Spotify support. However I cannot find an app or any information regarding it more than

"Spotify is coming" replies that are the same going back years.

Is there any actual information on when we will be getting a Spotify app on Ionic? It's quite misleading that it's posted on the Spotify page without the support actually being there.

Regards

E

According to Spotify, it is already available for the Ionic, as far as they are concerned, Ionic owners can use the app now. However the people at Fitbit say they are still working on it!!  It's a shambles, as usual!

The Ionic is still the most expensive device they have, yet the Spotify app is not available for it, but it is available on a cheaper Fitbit device!

Deezer are doing a 3 months free trial if it's any use to you? I set up an account a few days ago purely to use the music function on my Ionic whilst out running as I didn't want to carry a phone with me. It works a treat. Very similar to Spotify, set up playlists etc. Use the Deezer app to transfer playlist to the Ionic over wifi..

Just a shame that Fitbit aren't as keen to incorporate Spotify into the Ionic as 99% of it's users are!

I mean, how hard can it be? The software already works on Fitbit OS as it's available on another device.

Hello,

I hear you ntmh72, I have set up Deezer as well but honestly, it's a nuisance having two music streaming providers. Don't get me wrong - Deezer itself is fine, it's the fact of having a number of playlists in different places that is the annoying part. As you say, Ionic is their most expensive device and yet they are just dangling the Spotify support infront of us which is extra frustrating since Spotify themselves say that the device supports it.

If you click on Ionic it will take you to the Versa 2 page. It's apparently a mistake they made on the website. There is no Spotify app for Ionic.

Edit: I'm wondering what other Versa devices are doing on that list. There is no Spotify app for them either (Versa, Versa Lite). They just rushed a bit too much.

I tweeted them about the fabled Firmware update....all they do is refer you back to this message board!

Perhaps Spotify will appear once the firmware update is eventually rolled out?

So I have just received a message to say Spotify is now available for Ionic. How excited I was, until I found that all it does is let you control Spotify on other devices.  I can't see how that is useful on an Ionic, especially as I bought specifically so I don't have to go out running with my phone.  The only device it seems to be able to pick up and control is my laptop!!!

What the hell is going on?!!! 😤😤
