Stationary Bike to Count Steps

I failed to mention that I select the tread mill on my Fitbit (Iconic).  To repeat: I put the Fitbit into my sock.  The Fitbit records steps and I have discovered the Heart Rate is also recorded (albeit unknown how accurate).  On one occasion I tucked my cell phone into my shorts with the pedometer app running and the steps in the Fitbit and the phone app were remarkably alike.

@Cacciare Welcome to the Fitbit family! I moved your post to the Ionic Board as there are more chances for you to receive answers based on Ionic experiences.

Thanks for sharing your experience and workaround. I'm sure other users will find this helpful if they would like to see steps when on a treadmill or stationary bike.

Have you compared the heart rate readings with other days to see if they are accurate or alike?

Keen to hear if any other Ionic users have done this?

Currently I put the Fitbit into my sock to hold it against my ankle and it does record steps . . not sure of the accuracy. . . but heart rate is not recorded.   At the same time I "wore" my cell phone with a pedometer app and the step results remarkably alike.  Would be great if I could figure how to get heart rate recorded!
