Steps and Sleep Inconsistencies

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my ionic for 10 days now and I find the basics of counting my steps to be all over the place and have only managed to track my sleep on 3 occasions so far. Although to some these may not be their key functions of use with this device, it is for me. These are the basics of fitbit. If anyone has any  advice I'm all ears.

My iPhone is fully updated and my app seems to be too.

Thanks

@BlairC Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with Ionic so far in regards to step and sleep tracking functions.

By checking your Community profile information I see that some of the extra steps tracked are counted while driving. When you drive in a bumpy road (or if there is too much movement on the car) it is possible for your watch to track some steps thinking you are walking (because of the movement). You can always delete those extra steps by manually logging an activity as "driving". Please check this post for more details on this.

Now, it is very strange that sleep is not being tracked. It should be tracked automatically very night. What sleep setting are you using? I'd recommend using the "normal" settings if you are not using that one. Check this article for more details about this.

Also, please perform a restart on your Ionic watch. This is good to do when some of the data is not being tracked correctly (it should help you with both sleep and steps).

Try this out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy
