Yep. The only notifications that happen in Exercise mode are vibrations for auto laps. Mine is set to time and that works. Have not tried distance. If set to manual lap or split there is no notification. For audio nothing comes thru.
There could be some other scenario where the audio notification works -> but have not run across it. Personally the vibration works well enough and is better than nothing. For Strava the Ionic only reports certain Exercises recorded by that device. The Strava inbuilt cannot start or stop. It is pretty much only a simplistic viewer once synced. So very dumbed down stripped compared to the mobile Strava app.

Really there is no need to suffer in Frustration - simply call Tech Support at 877-623-4997 and get your Ionic replaced right now while you can
Many have followed this straightforward advice and now have a replacement Ionic - we all should have “zero tolerance” for any defective Ionic
