It's been announced that a new feature Stress Tracking is being added.
Unfortunately it's not coming to the Ionic.
There's not been a reason given. That's really disappointing.
Does this mean the Ionic won't be getting future applications & features?
Is it now classed as too old?
There's not been a new version of the watch released either.

I've been lucky enough to use this Ionic extensively over 4 years but it seems we are being pushed out if them, no new features, no new anything. Yes, it's now classified as "old" even though it was (and might still be) their most expensive device 😞 It sucks big time!

I didn't know it was that old.
I like the square look. December 2019 when I bought it the other option at there time didn't have GPS [maybe a versa] so that was a definite no for me. It seems the have cut down in their range. I'd give my money for an Ionic 2.

Fitbit twitter team time me to come to the community so they can answer any questions.
Clearly they haven't!

Turns out the Ionic using end of life. It still could get new features.
However they refused to give me a direct yes or no to my question.
Will the Ionic still be getting updates or is it too old...

I had the same conversation with them a few days ago and they confirmed they're not pushing stuff to the Ionic, other than some required security & functional updates. No new features or anything. I gave them a lengthy feedback but I doubt that will change anything. They suggested I put this request on their features board, I told them I put others there with tons of votes and very logical and needed features that are not being looked at, so I think it's pointless. Sad, very sad.

They replied to me with.....
'Thanks your ideas. We are looking forward to getting more updates on our devices.'
That tells me that it'll get software updates at least.
They told me to come over to here & join the community so they could give me more info.
I told them I had [Bak on twitter] & asked for an answer. Whoever replied didn't read my message as they told me to come to the community & ask.
It's frustrating that they won't just say yes or no to future releases.
I appreciate your time.
From what you say I won't expect any more features.
Remember the days when a watch could last 10 / 5 years..............?!!!
