Swimming - Strokes should be counted as steps

Don’t understand why each stroke swimming isn’t counted as a step. I have bad knees and swimming is the majority of my steps, especially needed when challenging friends and family. It should be an option to count strokes for steps.  I swim 3/4 mile two or three times a week and get no credit for it. In the meantime, I will manually enter this information, but it should be a feature .

You can go vote for it here but it says it is currently not planned
