Switching phone : what's the best procedure?

Hi all,

Coming week I'll be receiving me brand spanking new OnePlus 5T lava red, and I have been searching the site and forums over here for how to switch phones in the best way, and couldn't really find any posts covering this topic.
Is the only way to do this by removing the tracker/watch from your account and then run the setup procedure on the new phone? Or should I leave the tracker in my account and somehow just pair the device in the bluetooth settings? Do I need to reset the watch before I do that? Questions, questions... 😉
So if anyone has done this before, hope you can give me some device.... 🙂

@MoaskeAs @SteveH suggested, un-pair your device from the old phones Bluetooth.

I was playing around with my connections and had my Fitbit linked to my wife's iPad and her Windows 10 computer. I was having syncing issues on my phone.. Support came back to me and had me check connections to other devices. That was the problem, I removed those and I have been syncing ever since..

I'm using a phone not on the Fitbit list and my Ionic has done everything I wish for...  Make sure you're on App V2.66 .

I have been using the Ionic since the initial release and I'm happy with it.

There's no need to go through the fitbit setup again. Just download the fitbit app on your new phone and sign in using your existing Id and password.

It's worth removing any Bluetooth connections to the fitbit from your old phone first as this could block connection to your new phone.

My only worry is that your new phone isn't on the list of supported devices at www.fitbit.com/devices so there's a risk it won't work.

@Colinm39and @SteveH  Thanks for the advice! I did a last sync with previous phone, then unpaired, and after that I logged into the Fitbit app on the new OP5T and it started syncing right away!
Such an amazing experience, and weird as well, cause I didn't notice a paired device in the BT settings after that.... (EDIT: a few syncs later it was there in the settings) Fitbit just resumed working with the new combo, just like that! 😄

Anyway I'm happy! And also happy to report that the OnePlus 5T seems to work flawlessly so far. In my experience with the device so far the Bluetooth has been more robust on the 5T as opposed to the 3T.

And thanks again for the replies guys!

There's just one little issue left now: when somebody calls I don't get Caller-ID for it, while the phone does show the caller ID. Anoyone know how to get this back on track that it shows Caller-ID again (on the Ionic that is)?

@MoaskeI'm was having the same issue.. After the firmware update yesterday it's now displaying the ID from my phone's address book.. before it was just showing unknown caller..

I have Calls On in Notifications and Phone ticked in the App Notifications section.

But what really triggered that, I'm not sure.  In a week. I have had the App update, Android update to V8 and last night the firmware on the Ionic.
