Syncing Huewai P20 Lite with Fitbit Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Have had my fair share of problems with my new watch and phone. I came across an app called, "sync fix for Fitbit" in app store. I tried it temporarily and it worked. Have subsequently bought the app. The phone/Bluetooth still plays up from time to time. I restart my phone at least twice a week and this action seems to aid the syncing process. Good luck. At least I can use both my products. I world have thought that Fitbit and other watch manufacturers would work software fixes for our watches... I guess Huewai are trying to block the purchase of other brands with there phones and push consumers to buy their watches.

Hi @MBay72 welcome to the Forums. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for checking this information with our support team.

You have a good point there, it's great that you have the option to use both devices. I'm sure you can also place your feedback with them if you wish. Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models.

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

The Fitbit app is compatible with more than 200 Apple, Android, and Windows 10 phones and tablets. We're continually adding more devices and improving our compatibility, so if you don't see your device on the list check back soon. Have you tried to use any other device?

I hope you can use your Fitbit with other device. Smiley Happy

Thanks for your reply. I had a charge 2 and a Samsung phone. Never had a moments problem with either syncing. Changed phones in November and started to experience syncing problems. It's so annoying. I love my Fitbit have even upgraded to a Ionic now. This is definitely my last Huawei phone. I guess you pay for quality and that's why Samsung command a premium. Learnt the hard way. The only redeeming feature on the huewai is the camera. Thanks will battle along until contract is up and work with the fix app.

It does seem that the way Huawei has implemented bluetooth on their "lite" phones is causing problems for those trying to sync over bluetooth, such as fitbit. They say:

"Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent certain devices, like Fitbit devices, from syncing, our products aren't compatible with the following phones:

  • Huawei P8 Lite
  • Huawei P9 Lite
  • Huawei P20 Lite
  • Xiaomi Mi 6"
