I got my Fitbit Ionic for Christmas and have warn it daily and nightly since. On May eighth I started to have a sync issue the Fitbit would not fully sync with my android phone. However I could see on my phone my current floor count, miles count, step count, calorie count and active minutes this data continuously updated and pulse (when I looked at the app). But I could not see how well I slept or view a weekly exercise or change the clock face or anything that required a "full" sync. Then on May 19 it did "full" sync and did display information for some of the days but not all the days. I tried restart, remove\reinstall app, Bluetooth off and on. When I try to get it to Sync Now on my phone I get the chasing circle thing then red exclamation sync error.
So I am confused my Fitbit and phone communicate somewhat but not completely. HELP.?

Hello @MarkMurphPlus thanks for bringing this to my attention, I'm happy to help you out with your Ionic and this syncing behavior. It's nice to see you again participating in our Community Forums.
Seems odd that your device was partially syncing the information that was tracked. To better assist you, I'd like to gather more information. That said, can you please let me know which mobile device you're currently using to sync your Ionic? Also, when was the first time you experienced this situation and how many times? I'd like to appreciate your effort troubleshooting this prior posting too, and recommend you to check our help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? if you haven't already done so. I'll be waiting for your reply.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

I am using a Samsung S10+ and the issue started May 5 but it did sync periodically for the next three days then last sync was May 8 for about two weeks despite my efforts of restart delete reinstall no sync. Then on its own without any effort it sync. Now I'm back to no sync.
Thank you for your assistance.

mine has the same issue...syncs fine then will not sync for a few days at a time.....talked to support and get the same answers no matter the issue....its getting frustrating to say the least that they don't really have any answers

I've been having the same issue for quite a while already. Nothing worked but accepting it. Simply, I let my Ionic sync whenever it wants. If I can't force manual sync I give up and prefer to spend my time differently than getting frustrated. In my eyes, this is how Ionic works and not much can be done about it looking at it from the user's perspective.

all support says is the same thing.....restart your device, force close the app etc etc.....no matter what the issue is thats the troubleshooting they give, i told a rep in chat it will be my last fitbit device as its not worth the cost for something that works half the time if your lucky. the not syncing when it should isn't a big deal to me its the other problems that shouldnt be there

With the sync issue are your calls and text not going to the icon can I ask. Got mine for my birthday to replace the charge but it doesn't work as well as my charge

Ok, I am also getting FRUSTRATED with the Inoic in that the sync is not working. Have had this almost a year, great, other then charging issues but now if the watch and phone are not synic-ing the watch is lossing time, almost an hour over night thus making a person late who uses the alarm fuction.
using a Google 3 phone bluetooth settings, have shut down and restarted several time, phone and watch removed and re-installed app 3 times works for a moment then, just out of the blue no more synic.
what gives?

I'm having similar issues, did every standard troubleshooting steps (even removing the device from my account). I was finally able to sync on the Windows app on my computer, but I only get 1700 calories burned today (should be around 4000) and my last run has only partial info, which is a shame because I improved my time be a lot and wanted to look at the details in Strava.
I usually do like a previous poster said, wait for it to sync eventually instead of frustrating over it. But if I'm losing data, it's a whole other game.
I think it is trying to sync with Fitbit servers and they are having problems, it would explain why a lot of people have the issues currently...

I'm getting frustrated that I cannot help.. Ionic and Sony phone work all of the time..
I'm assuming when it syncs to the phone it goes there first and then on-syncs to the server and drags down info from there. I update the food log on both PC and Sony.
There are a couple of things I do religiously, firstly turn my phone off when I go to bed, so that means a refresh of the Android App when I awake when I start the phone.
The second thing is that I turn off the Ionic as I'm connecting it to the charge cable of the PC. That action restarts the Ionic in the charging process., I'm averaging just over 6 days on the Ionic battery with no GPS but all communications on. The Ionic syncs as soon as I open the App.
That's why I'm frustrated because I'm having no issues, so in summary.... phone is restarted every morning and when any App is updated.... and... the Ionic is restarted every 6 days.
At home I have the WiFi working and outdoors a 4g network with test speeds
Wi-Fi.... 94mbs Download, 34mbs Upload
4g........ Varying speeds, but generally faster, unless it drops back to 3g because of data traffic on our local tower, which I have "line of sight". I have never exceeded my data plan.

I'm having the same problem this morning..... been working perfectly for months if not years. Tried all the re-sets etc, must be the app or the Fitbit service?
