Text message notifications stopped showing up in Ionic

My Ionic was not showing me calendar notifications. I re-booted it and my phone and now getting calendar notifications but it now stopped giving me text message notifications which was much more important!

 

I have a Samsung galaxy 7 and the default message app is selected on the fitbit app and the notifications still come through the phone...

Have you checked that notification is turned on? I know it sounds like a basic questions, but I've notice that mine get's turned off regularly. On the main screen, swipe right to see battery, Screen Wake and Notifications. Make sure under Notifications it says "received from phone'. The issue could be you have a pending update to the app on your phone. This one stumped me for a few days. I hope one of these suggestions helps you.

Hope this works as i had the same issue. Go into settings and tap on apps then scroll down and find sms. (Or which ever app that your not getting notifications for) then scroll down tap on notifications and check wether the allow notifications is active. That fixed my issue as i wasnt receiving sms notifications but everything else was fine. Hope it helps
