Tips that worked for me to resolve sync with LG V20

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So I went a day or two unable to sync my progress from my Ionic to my LG V20, Not only was I frustrated but started feeling the Ionic was an expensive worthless piece of technology. I decided to go in to my phone's settings, in apps and cleared the apps cache, and have since been able to sync without a problem. I've reported this as well, but I wanted to share so that anyone else having this issue with their ionic can try it rather than doing all those other steps. Good luck!

This did not help. I still can't sync with my LGv20 or on my windows 10 laptop (with dongle plugged in).
Any other advice?

It's great to see you around @ChapelHillBetsy! Currently, LG v20 isn't a supported device. This can be the reason why it's not syncing properly with your tracker. Rest assure that Fitbit is always trying new devices and adding new ones to the list.

You may want to try this syncing troubleshoot to get your Fitbit syncing with your Windows 10 laptop, Why won't my Fitbit device sync?. Which Fitbit tracker or watch do you have?

Keep me posted.

Thank you for getting back @ChapelHillBetsy! I'm not sure if you refer to the Alta HR. I would like to know if you were able to sync your tracker.

I've had my Charge HR for several months and have been able to utilize it with my LG V20 until a couple of day ago. Something had to change...

My Ionic has synced with my LG V20 up until 5 days ago. Now I cannot even get it to pair. How is it an unsupported device when it had been working all this time?

I simply cleared tge Cache and it is now working for me. Good luck!

Thanks for jumping in here @LLee3082! I'm glad to hear that your tracker is syncing again after clearing the cookies and cache. Thanks for sharing what worked for you.

It's nice to see you around the forums @eb926! I totally understand your point. Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

Note that the devices on this list have been confirmed as fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.

Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone meets the minimum operating system requirements. Note that the majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products.

If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, I'd recommend giving the sync troubleshoot  a try to see if you can successfully connect your tracker.

I realize this post is over a year old but I am currently having the same issue.
It started on 8/22/19, I cleared cache, tried turning off BlueTooth restarting device, unpairing, uninstalling disconnecting.  You name it.
Contacted tech support only to be instructed for almost a week of back and forth emails to do exactly what I had already tried.  Then to be old LG does not support the Fitbit Flex.  Hmm, odd.  I've been using the same tiny Flex and same phone for over 2 years without any issues.  I've done zero system updates from LG since Nov 2018.  Ironically, the last update was from Fitbit. That's when the step tracking started messing up, and syncing wasn't acting proper.  Then on 8/22 it stopped altogether.
If you look in the Android Play Store there are several reviews where users are mentioning similar problems.  I mentioned this to the techs I was dealing with.  Their suggestions were unhelpful and the end result was to offer me a new device and 25% off.  I like the item I have. It's small, you can switch the band.  The ones they offered did not have this ability.
I thanked them for their time and said it may be time to look into another fitness tracker.

Frustrated when Fitbit does an update.
It turns into the phone manufactures fault, and they try to "upsell" a new device.
Total crap.

Silvia,

I inquired and got a reply from Fitbit support that it won't support LG V20 as of now.  Do you have anything to say...Is there any plan in future

thanks

@gopinath4575 Welcome to the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply.

I appreciate the details shared. As mentioned by our Support team, the LG V20 isn't a supported device. We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models.

Please keep an eye on this article: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker? Any new devices that gets added to the list will be appear in this article.

why did we as LG V20 users have full functionality until just a while ago... it's clear that is on the Fitbit end of things! you guys need to fix this! we all purchased your product... it worked for all of us... the amount of time and money we have put into this should count for something... get your coders on it a do an update to accept the v20... you accept the v10...

Mine worked flawlessly for the longest time.  Then after an app update last year, I had to force it to manually update.  Now recently it just won't connect at all.  I think they call this planned obsolescence, which TOTALLY makes me want to buy another fitbit product.
