Too many steps on my ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Bought my device yesterday and as soon as it was charged I had several hundred steps and calories burned. When I woke up this morning showed 74 steps and 667 calories. If these features are not working properly makes me wonder if my heart rate is also not working which I would like to have because of my age. Suggestions?

It sounds to me like it is working correctly. As it is a wrist worn device it is normal to get some 'steps' overnight as you move in your sleep. 76 is a reasonable number. If it was in the thousands I would think that was too many, but one or two hundred is not unusual.

As far as the calories burnt goes, fitbits count your calories burnt from exercise, but they also include your BMR calories (basic metabolic rate). These are the calories you burn just by being alive. 667 in the morning is a reasonable number, so I doubt there is anything wrong.
